Julienne "Julie" Christensen is an American politician,who served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from January 2015 to December 2015,representing District 3.
After studying sculpture,painting,and pre-law,Christensen worked for design firm Skidmore,Owings &Merrill in San Francisco before starting her own firm,Surface Work,in 1981. [1] Among her designs is the color of the KitchenAid candy apple red mixer. [2]
In January 2015, [3] Christensen was appointed by San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee to fill the District 3 supervisorial vacancy left by former Board of Supervisors President David Chiu upon his election to the California State Assembly. [4] In the closely fought supervisorial election in December 2015,she was defeated by Aaron Peskin,who had previously held the seat from 2001 until 2009. During the election campaign,Julie Christensen cited the physics concept "wormhole"—a connection between two different space-times—to describe the Stockton Street Tunnel connecting Union Square and Chinatown,Peskin's ally Rose Pak distorted the word "wormhole" to imply that Chinatown is a hole of worms,which successfully triggered the anger of some Chinatown residents. [5] That negative press controlled by Rose Pak in Chinatown created an opportunity for Peskin to pick up much-needed votes in the Chinese community when he ran against Christensen. [6]
She has also served on the advisory board for the SPUR and is an active proponent of extending San Francisco's Central Subway to North Beach. [7]
Christensen currently serves as the executive director of the Dogpatch and Northwest Potrero Hill Green Benefit District.

The Third Street Light Rail Project was the construction project that expanded the Muni Metro system in San Francisco,California,linking downtown San Francisco to the historically underserved southeastern neighborhoods of Bayview-Hunters Point and Visitacion Valley along the eastern side of the city. Construction was finished in late 2006,non-revenue weekend service began on January 13,2007,and full service began on April 7,2007. The new service,as the T Third Street Metro line,replaced the 15 Third bus line,which ran south from the Caltrain Depot at 4th and King streets,along Third Street and Bayshore Boulevard to the southeastern neighborhoods.

A surface portion runs through SoMa to connect to the previously existing T Third Street line at 4th and King station.
The T Third Street is a Muni Metro light rail line in San Francisco,California. It runs along the east side of San Francisco from Sunnydale to Chinatown–Rose Pak,traveling in the median of Third Street for most of its length before entering the Central Subway as it approaches downtown.
