Kale District (also called Kalemyo District) is the westernmost district in Sagaing Division of Myanmar (Burma). [1]
Its administrative center is the city of Kalay (Kalaymyo). The district consists of three townships Kale Township, Kalewa Township, and Mingin Township.
To the west Kale District borders Falam District in Chin State, to the north Mawlaik District, to the east Shwebo District, to the south Monywa District and finally Gangaw District of Magway Division.
The area is supported by rice farming, fisheries and timbering. The main towns are Kalaymyo, Kalewa and Mingin.
Kale District is one of the most affluent Christian areas of Burma. 99% of inhabitants in Tahan are Christian even though Burma is a Buddhist country and 90% of the national population are Buddhist. Only 4% of the Burmese population are Christian. Kale has 116 Buddhist Monasteries, 508 Churches, a Mosque, two Hindu Temples, two Buddhist Seminary for Nuns, five Buddhist nunneries and a joss house (Chinese communal temple). There are over 50 churches in Tahan also. This is the only place in Burma that you can see a church on every street corner and where Christmas is celebrated. [2]
Magway Region is an administrative division in central Myanmar. It is the second largest of Myanmar's seven divisions, with an area of 44,820 km2. Pa Del Dam (ပဒဲဆည်) is one of the dams in Aunglan Township, Magway Division. The capital and second largest city of the Magway Division is Magway. The largest city is Pakokku. The major cities of Magway Division are Magway, Pakokku, Chauk, Aunglan, Yenangyaung, Taungdwingyi, Minbu, Thayet and Gangaw.
Chin State is a state in western Myanmar. The 36,019-square-kilometre (13,907 sq mi) Chin State is bordered by Sagaing Division and Magway Division to the east, Rakhine State to the south, Bangladesh to the south-west, and the Indian states of Mizoram to the west and Manipur to the north. The population of Chin state is about 478,801 in 2014 census. The capital of the state is Hakha. The state is a mountainous region with few transportation links. In 1896, it became a part of Pakokku Hill Tracts Districts of British Burma until January 4, 1948. Only Paletwa township became a part of Arakan Hill Tracts District of British Burma.
The Chindwin River is a river flowing entirely in Myanmar, and the largest tributary of the country's main river, the Ayeyarwady.Its official name is also spelled Chindwinn.
Bandarban, is a district in South-Eastern Bangladesh, and a part of the Chittagong Division. It is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the others being Rangamati District and Khagrachhari District. Bandarban city is the headquarters of the Bandarban district. Bandarban district (4,479 km2) is not only the most remote district of the country, but also the least populous. Kalewa is a town at the confluence of the Chindwin River and the Myittha River in Kale District, Sagaing Region of north-western Myanmar. It is the administrative seat of Kalewa Township.
Mingin is a town on the southern side of the Chindwin River in Kale District, Sagaing Division, Myanmar. It is the administrative center for Mingin Township.
Gangaw is a town of Gangaw Township in Gangaw District in the Magway Division in Myanmar. Gangaw is also known as the City of Yaw, a certain region in Myanmar including Gangaw (ဂန့်ဂေါ), Tilin (ထီးလင်း), Saw (ဆော) and villages around them. Gangaw District and Gangaw township was a part of Pakokku District until 2003.In 2003,Gangaw District was established. Myit Thar river (မြစ်သာမြစ်) flows from South to North dividing the town into Gangaw and Western Gangaw (အနောက်ဂန့်ဂေါ) village.

Kalay, also known as Kale, is a town in the Sagaing Region of Myanmar. It is located upstream from Mandalay and Monywa on the Myittha River, a tributary of the Chindwin River. The town is the district headquarters of the Kalay District. It has gained importance with trans border movement enabled between Myanmar and India following the 165 kilometres (103 mi) Tamu–Kalay section of India–Myanmar–Thailand Trilateral Highway built by the Border Roads Organization of India under the Look-East Connectivity policy. Consequently, Kalay is now one of the fastest developing towns in Myanmar.

Lairawn Baptist Association(LBA) is the organization of 62 Baptist churches throughout Kalay Valley, Sagaing Division, Myanmar. The majority of the Burmese population is made of profess Theravada Buddhism and only 6% practices Christianity, with two-thirds of them being considered Protestant. Almost half of these Protestants are Baptist. The LBA mainly serves the Chin people who speak Falam dialect. It is one of the twenty eight associations of Chin Baptist Convention which is under the umbrella of Myanmar Baptist Convention (MBC). As of 2015, the association has 78 pastors and 21305 members. The association is divided into 12 areas and each area has their own by-law and constitution, but they work together with each other in unity in the context of LBA, encouraging and resourcing each other. The motto is Pitlin Lam Pan.
