Everton Football Club, an association football club based in Liverpool, Merseyside, was founded in 1878 and competes in the top flight of English football the Premier League. Everton have a storied history winning nine League titles, five FA Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup.
Players of the club can be called up to represent their national team and to date 238 players have played at senior international level whilst registered with the club. [1] Everton's first international was Job Wilding who appeared for Wales against England on 14 March 1885. The most recent newly capped player is Beto for Guinea-Bissau against Mali on 11 October 2024.
Robert Warzycha became the first player from outside of the British Isles to represent his country, Poland in 1991 (Although some players born outside of the British Isles had played internationally for the club for Home Nation sides such as Pat Van Den Hauwe born in Belgium but representing Wales). Daniel Amokachi was the first non-European representative for Nigeria in 1993. [2]
Since 2016, Tim Howard holds the record for most caps won with 93 for the United States of America. Previously Neville Southall had held the record with 91 caps for Wales since the early 1980s. [3]
Dixie Dean held the record for most international goals with 18 for England held from the 1930s. Tim Cahill matched this in 2012 for Australia.
37 individual Everton players have represented their countries at the World Cup, with Everton being represented in 13 of the 22 tournaments (currently having taken part in 10 consecutive tournaments since 1986. Alex Parker the first in 1958 for Scotland. [4] At the most recent World Cup in 2022, 4 Everton players represented 3 countries. Tim Cahill, Jordan Pickford and Idrissa Gana Gueye, representing Australia, England and Senegal respectively, are the only players to appear at more than one World Cup whilst being contracted to Everton.
Over 2700 caps for 44 countries have been earned by players while contracted to Everton.
The most Everton players to play in a single fixture was between the Republic of Ireland and England on 7 June 2015 when five players (three for Ireland, two for England) appeared.

Neville Southall is a Welsh football manager and former international footballer. He has been described as one of the best goalkeepers of his generation and won the FWA Footballer of the Year award in 1985.
Philip John Neville is an English football manager and former player who is the current head coach of Major League Soccer club Portland Timbers. He is also the co-owner of Salford City, along with several of his former Manchester United teammates.
Thomas Harald Myhre is a Norwegian football manager and former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is the manager of Moss. The last club he played for before his retirement was Kongsvinger, having returned to Norwegian football in July 2007. Myhre earned 56 caps for the Norwegian national team, and was a part of the Norwegian squad at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and 2000 European Championship tournaments.

The 1995 FA Cup final was a football match played at Wembley Stadium in London on 20 May 1995 to determine the winner of the 1994–95 FA Cup. The 50th FA Cup Final to be played at Wembley since the Second World War, it was contested by Everton and Manchester United. Everton won the match 1–0 via a headed goal by Paul Rideout, after Graham Stuart's shot rebounded off the crossbar. The rest of the game saw Manchester United dominating the attack, only for Welsh international goalkeeper Neville Southall to hold on to a clean sheet.

The 2009–10 season of Everton F.C. was Everton's 18th season in the Premier League and 56th consecutive season in the top division of English football. The club began their preseason friendly schedule on 10 July 2009 and concluded the summer friendlies on 7 August. Everton began their Premier League season at home in Goodison Park with a 6–1 defeat by Arsenal, the worst defeat by the North London side since a 7–0 loss in 2005. Everton's poor form continued throughout most of the first half of the season; they found themselves in 16th place, only two points clear of the relegation zone, at Christmas, though their league form improved significantly from that time. Everton entered the League Cup in the Third round against Hull City, a match they won, but the club was eliminated in the next round by Tottenham Hotspur. They also entered the FA Cup in the third round proper and were eliminated in the fourth round by Birmingham City.
