The Fellowship of the British Academy consists of world-leading scholars and researchers in the humanities and social sciences. A varying number of fellows are elected each year in July at the Academy's annual general meeting. [1] Corresponding fellows are "scholars outside the UK who have 'attained high international standing in any of the branches of study which it is the object of the Academy to promote'." Up to 20 may be elected each year. [2]
