This is a list of countries by eggplant (aubergine) production from the years 2017 to 2022, based on data from the Food and Agriculture Organization Corporate Statistical Database. [1] The estimated total world production for eggplants in 2022 was 59,312,600 metric tonnes, up by 1.0% from 58,705,398 tonnes in 2021. [1] China was by far the largest producer of eggplants, accounting for nearly 65% of global production at 38,284,897 tonnes. Dependent territories are shown in italics.

    The tomato is the edible berry of the plant Solanum lycopersicum, commonly known as the tomato plant. The species originated in western South America, Mexico, and Central America. The Nahuatl word tomatl gave rise to the Spanish word tomate, from which the English word tomato derives. Its domestication and use as a cultivated food may have originated with the indigenous peoples of Mexico.
