<span class="mw-page-title-main">Blair Township, Michigan</span> Civil township in Michigan, United States

Blair Township is a civil township of Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township had a population of 8,994, an increase from 8,209 at the 2010 census. The township lies about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Traverse City, the largest city in Northern Michigan. Because of this proximity, much of the north of Blair Township is developed, especially within the township-administered communities of Chums Corner and Grawn, while much of the south of the township is rural in nature.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">William Milliken</span> American politician and businessman (1922–2019)

William Grawn Milliken was an American businessman and politician who served as the 44th governor of Michigan from 1969 to 1983. A member of the Republican Party, he assumed the governorship following the resignation of George Romney and went on to win three terms in 1970, 1974, and 1978, becoming the longest-serving governor in Michigan history. During this period he dealt with dramatic changes to the state economy, due to industrial restructuring and challenges to the auto industry, resulting in loss of jobs and population from Detroit, the state's largest city. He also oversaw the PBB crisis and adopted a policy of environmental protection and conservation.

Traverse City Central High School is a public high school in Traverse City, Michigan. It is one of two comprehensive high schools in the Traverse City Area Public Schools district. It is the second-largest high school in Northern Michigan, behind rival Traverse City West Senior High School.

Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) is a public community college in Traverse City, Michigan. Established in 1951, the college enrolls more than 3,000 students. The college offers associate degrees and professional certificates, bachelor's degrees through the Great Lakes Maritime Academy and Great Lakes Water Studies Institute, and bachelor's and master's degrees granted by partner universities through NMC's University Center.

Traverse City West Senior High School is a public, co-educational secondary school located outside Traverse City, Michigan, in neighboring Garfield Township. Along with Traverse City Central High School, TC West is part of the Traverse City Area Public Schools district, and one of six high schools in Traverse City. The school enrolls about 1,500 students each year, making it the largest high school in Michigan north of Kent County. The school was established in 1997, and opened in early 1998.

Chums Corner is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Grand Traverse County in the U.S. state of Michigan. According to the 2020 census, the population was 1,065. The community is located within Blair Township.

Chasten James Glezman Buttigieg is an American teacher, author, and LGBT+ activist. He is married to Pete Buttigieg, the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, and was an advisor, spokesperson, and social media campaigner during his husband's 2020 presidential campaign. In September 2020, Buttigieg released a memoir titled I Have Something to Tell You.

The 2024 United States Senate election in Michigan was held on November 5, 2024, to elect a Class I member of the United States Senate to represent the state of Michigan. It was held concurrently with the 2024 United States presidential election, other elections to the U.S. Senate, elections to the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as various state and local elections. Democratic U.S. Representative Elissa Slotkin narrowly defeated Republican former U.S. Representative Mike Rogers, as they were both seeking their first term in office. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump carried Michigan on the same ballot. Slotkin will succeed Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow, who declined to seek a fifth term.
