Ukraine possesses the greatest sea port potential among all the countries of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. [1] There are 18 seaports located along the Ukrainian coast.
All the ports of Ukraine are managed by the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority. In 2022, the majority of these ports were effectively closed to international ship traffic due to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine and Russian naval blockade of the Black Sea. Odesa, along with to a lesser degree Chornomorsk and Pivdenne, have been partially open to limited convoy-based grain and ammonia (for fertilizer) exports under the UN-brokered Black Sea Grain Initiative. Mykolaiv Oblast, also referred to as Mykolaivshchyna, is an oblast (province) of Ukraine. The administrative center of the oblast is the city of Mykolaiv. At the most recent estimate, the population of the oblast stood at 1,091,821.

The city of Mykolaiv, which provides Ukraine with access to the Black Sea, is the location of the most downriver bridge crossing of the Southern Bug river. As of 2022, the city has a population of 470,011. Mykolaiv holds the honorary title Hero City of Ukraine.
Reni is a small city in Izmail Raion, Odesa Oblast, southern Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Reni urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Reni is located in the Bessarabian historic district of Budjak and on the left bank of the Danube. The settlement was founded around 1548, acquiring city status in 1821. Population: 17,736.
Chornomorsk, formerly Illichivsk, is a city in Odesa Raion, Odesa Oblast, south-western Ukraine, dependent on the Port of Chornomorsk. It hosts the administration of Chornomorsk urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The city is located around the Sukhyi Estuary. Its population was given as 57,983.
Orlivka is a village in Izmail Raion, Odesa Oblast, southern Ukraine. It belongs to Reni urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine.
International Black Sea Club is an international non-governmental organisation uniting several cities on the Black Sea and in its vicinity. It has the status of Observer in the Black Sea Economic Cooperation organisation and the special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. It was created in 1992 in Odesa, Ukraine and its current president is Ionut Pucheanu, the mayor of Galati City (Romania).
State highways in Ukraine are subdivided into four categories: international (M-network), national (H-network), regional (P-network), and territorial (Т-network). The letter's indexes are in Cyrillic, standing for their respective abbreviations in Ukrainian.
A city with special status, formerly a "city of republican subordinance", is a type of first-level administrative division of Ukraine. Kyiv and Sevastopol are the only two such cities. Total throughput of 13 seaports in 2019 exceeded 160 million tons.
The 1959 Football Championship of UkrSSR were part of the 1959 Soviet republican football competitions in the Soviet Ukraine. This was the last time such competitions were conducted at this level. The next season competitions were merged with Class B competitions.
NIBULON is a Ukrainian agricultural company specializing in production and export of grains such as wheat, barley and corn. The company was headquartered in Mykolaiv until 2023, when it transferred to Kyiv. It is the only agricultural company in Ukraine with its own fleet and shipyard.
Odesa Oblast, also referred to as Odeshchyna (Одещина), is an oblast (province) of southwestern Ukraine, located along the northern coast of the Black Sea. Its administrative centre is the city of Odesa. Population: 2,351,382.
Hero City of Ukraine is a Ukrainian honorary title awarded for outstanding heroism during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. It was awarded to ten cities in March 2022, in addition to four already-named Hero Cities of the Soviet Union. This symbolic distinction for a city corresponds to the distinction of Hero of Ukraine awarded to individuals.
The Ust-Danube Seaport is a state-owned enterprise of the Ukrainian transport system, located in the southern part of the Zhebriyansʹka Bay of the Black Sea and at the mouth of the Ochakiv estuary of the Danube Delta. The port administration is located in Vylkove, Odesa Oblast. According to the Law of Ukraine "On Seaports of Ukraine," the functions of the seaport administration are performed by the Ust-Danube branch of the state enterprise of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The Port of Kiliia is a river port of the Ust-Danube Commercial Seaport. It is located on the 47-km section of the Chilia branch of the Danube River, in the city of Kiliia. The length of the berth front is 150 m, the depth of the berths is 4 m.
The Black Sea Grain Initiative was an agreement among Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the United Nations (UN) during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
