Newsline Philippines (Newsline.ph) is a regional independent news media based in Davao City, Philippines. The news brand operates under multiple platforms thru website, social media, a weekly newspaper, and a news channel thru Sky Cable and other pay TV providers in Mindanao. [1]

Newsline Philippines is owned by Altheni Advertisement and Consultants, and is a member of World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA).

History

Newsline.ph began as a start-up brand on July 8, 2016 after a group led by its publisher Editha Caduaya attended a seminar held by WAN-IFRA in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The group later launched its own website on November 2016. [1]

To further expand the operations of Newsline.ph, the brand launched its weekly newspaper on October 8, 2019 and is distributed to communities across Mindanao.

On October 31, 2021, Newsline.ph reporter and journalist Orlando Dinoy was murdered by an unknown hitman. [2] [3] [4]

In November 2021, Newsline Philippines broke its first major report involving a drug raid at a beach party in Mabini, Davao de Oro where Davao City information officer Jefrey Tupas was among those who attended at a party. [5]

Newsline.ph launched its own news channel on April 28, 2021. Its programming includes the flagship Cebuano-language evening newscast Newsline Evening News, as well as breaking news and developing stories surrounding the Mindanao region.

Weekly newspaper

The weekly newspaper, under its namesake brand, was first published on October 8, 2019. Circulation of its newspaper publishes every Wednesday in regional communities across Mindanao.

Sonshine Media Network International

Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI), also known by its legal operating name Swara Sug Media Corporation, is the official broadcasting arm of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) led by the Filipino church leader and televangelist Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy. Based in Davao City and Makati City, the broadcasting network is available via terrestrial broadcast in the Philippines, and on cable, satellite, and online streaming worldwide. The network now owns and operates two television channels, where the main flagship channel, based in Davao City, maintains an uninterrupted 24-hour service through regular repetition of a dozen self-produced Kingdom Programs in English, Tagalog, and dozens of foreign languages along with news, public affairs, and sports programs. On the other hand, the network's sister channel SMNI News Channel, based in Makati City, primarily provides rolling news coverage and public affairs programs, which broadcasts exclusively in Digital TV format in Metro Manila. It also maintains a network of radio stations under the "Sonshine Radio" brand of the Swara Sug Media Corporation. Metro Davao, officially called Metropolitan Davao, Filipino: Kalakhang Davao, is a metropolitan area in the Mindanao island group, Philippines. <i>Isyu Ngayon</i>

The Isyu Ngayon series was a brand of regional news magazine shows of different GMA Regional TV stations in the Philippines. They were aired weekly in Dagupan, Cebu, Iloilo and Davao on Saturday mornings; and aired daily in Naga, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro and General Santos. The Isyu Ngayon family of programs was not available in the Metro Manila market. Its editions in Naga, Iloilo, Bacolod and Davao were aired internationally via GMA News TV International.

BRP <i>Davao del Sur</i> (LD-602)

BRP Davao del Sur (LD-602) is the second ship of the Tarlac-class landing platform dock of the Philippine Navy. She is the second ship to be named after the Philippine province of Davao del Sur, one of the main provinces in Mindanao in Southern Philippines. She was launched on 29 September 2016 and was commissioned into service on 31 May 2017.

Regional TV Weekend News was a Philippine television news broadcasting show broadcast by GMA News TV, GMA Network and GTV. It premiered on July 27, 2019 on GMA News TV and on March 21, 2020 on GMA Network. The show concluded on GMA Network on May 2, 2020. The show aired its last episode on July 24, 2021, to give way for Regional TV News.
