As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 679 people, 233 households, and 195 families residing in the town. The population density was 19.1 people per square mile (7.4/km2). There were 255 housing units at an average density of 7.2 per square mile (2.8/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 95.58% White, 0.29% Black or African American, 2.21% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.29% from other races, and 1.03% from two or more races. 0.59% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 233 households, out of which 42.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.0% were married couples living together, 4.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 16.3% were non-families. 12.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.91 and the average family size was 3.16.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 29.9% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 22.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older.
