According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 35.3 square miles (91.5 km2), of which, 35.3 square miles (91.4 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2) of it (0.11%) is water.
As of the census [2] of 2000, there were 318 people, 106 households, and 75 families residing in the town. The population density was 9.0 people per square mile (3.5/km2). There were 126 housing units at an average density of 3.6 per square mile (1.4/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 95.91% White, 1.89% African American, 0.31% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.31% Pacific Islander, 1.26% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.52% of the population.
There were 106 households, out of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.2% were married couples living together, 3.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.2% were non-families. 24.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.53 and the average family size was 3.05.
