Port Jervis station is a commuter rail stop owned by Metro-North Railroad serving trains on the Port Jervis Line, located in Port Jervis, New York. It is the western terminus of the Port Jervis Line.
Located slightly off US 6 and 209 in downtown Port Jervis, it is the westernmost station in the Metro-North system. It is two blocks from the bridge over the Delaware River to Matamoras, Pennsylvania, which produces some regular commuters. The northwestern tip of New Jersey, also not far away, draws riders as well.
The station consists of a short concrete platform, a shelter, ticket machines, and a posted schedule. Renovations to the station were completed and a ribbon cutting was held on October 4, 2021; [3] a high level platform was built and opened on August 10, 2021. [4] [5]
There is ample parking. The vicinity of the station contains a yard just beyond (the tracks continue upriver, but only carry freight beyond here) and various features of the once extensive facilities that existed here when it was a division point on the Erie Railroad, including a still-working turntable, used when excursion trains operate from the station. There is also an EMD E8A locomotive, No. 833, stored at Port Jervis, painted in original Erie paint.
The station has two tracks and a high-level [6] side platform with a pathway connecting the platform to the bypass tracks.
A short distance down the tracks from the station is the Erie Depot, which served as the city's passenger station for much of the 20th century. Built by the Erie Railroad in 1892, when passenger service continued on to Binghamton, [7] it remained in service through the mid-1970s. In 1982 it was redeveloped, and today, it houses medical offices and some small shops.
The Long Island Rail Road, or LIRR, is a railroad in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of New York, stretching from Manhattan to the eastern tip of Suffolk County on Long Island. Metro-North Railroad, trading as MTA Metro-North Railroad, is a suburban commuter rail service operated by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), a public authority of the U.S. state of New York. Metro-North serves the New York Metropolitan Area, running service between New York City and its northern suburbs in New York and Connecticut, including Port Jervis, Spring Valley, Poughkeepsie, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, White Plains, Southeast and Wassaic in New York and Stamford, New Canaan, Danbury, Bridgeport, Waterbury, and New Haven in Connecticut. The Erie Lackawanna Railway, known as the Erie Lackawanna Railroad until 1968, was formed from the 1960 merger of the Erie Railroad and the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. The official motto of the line was "The Friendly Service Route".
Secaucus Junction is an intermodal transit hub served by New Jersey Transit and Metro-North Railroad in Secaucus, New Jersey. It is one of the busiest railway stations in North America.
The Pascack Valley Line is a commuter rail line operated by the Hoboken Division of New Jersey Transit, in the U.S. states of New Jersey and New York. The line runs north from Hoboken Terminal, through Hudson and Bergen counties in New Jersey, and into Rockland County, New York, terminating at Spring Valley. Service within New York is operated under contract with Metro-North Railroad. The line is named for the Pascack Valley region that it passes through in northern Bergen County. The line parallels the Pascack Brook for some distance. The line is colored purple on system maps, and its symbol is a pine tree.

The station is located at the end of Watkins Road, off Egbertson Road. The station contains decorative lights, a long platform roof and an elevated mini-high platform at the east end of the station for access by riders in wheelchairs. The Port Jervis station is a disused train station at the corner of Jersey Avenue and Fowler Street in Port Jervis, New York. It was built in 1892 as a passenger station for the Erie Railroad by Grattan & Jennings in the Queen Anne style. For years it was the busiest passenger station on the railroad's Delaware Branch because Port Jervis is along the Delaware River near the tripoint of New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. The long-distance passenger trains Erie Limited and the Lake Cities between Chicago and Hoboken served this station.

Located on Depot Street, the station was first opened in 1843 with the construction of the New York, Lake Erie and Western Railroad, which had originally terminated at Goshen. The station was located along the New York Division, which stretched from Pavonia Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey, to the Sparrowbush station just north of Port Jervis.
