Crestwood station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, serving the communities of Tuckahoe, Yonkers, and Eastchester, New York. Because of its location at the northern end of the triple-track segment of the Harlem Line, Crestwood is often the first/last stop outside New York City on Harlem Line express trains, and its center island platform is frequently used to short turn local trains during rush hour.
The Harlem Line has two stations in the village of Tuckahoe. Tuckahoe station, the next station heading southbound, is located near Tuckahoe Village Hall, while Crestwood is located near the adjoining residential neighborhood of Crestwood, Yonkers.
As of August 2006, daily commuter ridership was 1,596, and there are 283 parking spots. [2]
Originally built by the New York Central Railroad sometime in 1901, the station's canopy was rebuilt in 1911, then faced a major redesign in 1928. [3] The Crestwood railroad station is depicted in the painting "Commuter" by Norman Rockwell and was featured on the cover of the November 16, 1946 edition of the Saturday Evening Post. [4] In Norman Rockwell's depiction, you can see commuters approaching from the Crestwood side of the station. As with the rest of the Harlem Line, the merger of New York Central with Pennsylvania Railroad in 1968 transformed it into a Penn Central station, which received platform extensions in 1971. [5]
Penn Central commuter service was gradually merged with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), and officially became part of Metro-North in 1983. In the Spring of 1989, the platforms were reconstructed again, along with those of Fleetwood, Bronxville, and Tuckahoe stations. [6] Under the 2015–2019 MTA Capital Plan, the station, along with four other Metro-North Railroad stations, would receive a complete overhaul as part of the Enhanced Station Initiative. Updates would include cellular service, Wi-Fi, USB charging stations, interactive service advisories, and maps. [7] The renovations at Crestwood station cost $10.6 million and was completed at the end of October 2019. [8] : 62
The station has two slightly offset high-level platforms each 12 cars long. [9] : 10 Parking at the station is available on Columbus Avenue halfway between Fisher Avenue and Lincoln Avenue along the northbound platforms, and off of the Thompson Street interchange of the Bronx River Parkway along the southbound platforms.
Harlem–125th Street station is a commuter rail stop serving the Metro-North Railroad's Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines. It is located at East 125th Street and Park Avenue in East Harlem, Manhattan, New York City. The station also serves as an important transfer point between the Metro-North trains and the New York City Subway's IRT Lexington Avenue Line for access to the Upper East Side of Manhattan. It is the only station besides Grand Central Terminal that serves all three lines east of the Hudson River. Trains leave for Grand Central Terminal, as well as to the Bronx and the northern suburbs, regularly.
Crestwood is a neighborhood in Yonkers, New York. Located in northeastern Yonkers, Crestwood is separated by the Bronx River from the village of Tuckahoe. Because the majority of Crestwood is served by the Tuckahoe post office, many residents identify their location as Tuckahoe or Crestwood, rather than Yonkers. Closer to the Crestwood train station, several grand homes occupy the hilly ground overlooking the river.
North White Plains station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in the North White Plains neighborhood of White Plains, New York. It is the north terminal for most trains that run local to the south and, until 1984, was the northern limit of electrification.
Fordham station, also known as Fordham–East 190th Street station, is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem and New Haven Lines, serving Fordham Plaza in the Fordham neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City. The platforms are situated just below street level and feature two expanded side platforms that serve eight cars each, on the outer tracks. The station building sits above the tracks on the Fordham Road overpass, and still bears the name New York Central Railroad on its facade. The station is among the busiest rail stations in the Bronx.
White Plains station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in White Plains, New York. With 9,166 daily commuters as of 2006, White Plains is the busiest Metro-North station in Westchester County, the busiest non-terminal or transfer station on the Metro-North system, and the first/last stop outside New York City on most upper Harlem Line express trains.
The Harlem Line is an 82-mile (132 km) commuter rail line owned and operated by the Metro-North Railroad in the U.S. state of New York. It runs north from New York City to Wassaic, in eastern Dutchess County. The lower 53 miles (85 km) from Grand Central Terminal to Southeast, in Putnam County, is electrified with a third rail and has at least two tracks. The section north of Southeast is a non-electrified single-track line served by diesel locomotives. Before the renaming of the line in 1983, it eventually became the Harlem Division of the New York Central Railroad. The diesel trains usually run as a shuttle on the northern end of the line, except for rush-hour express trains in the peak direction.
Mount Vernon West station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, located in Mount Vernon, New York. Train 357 from Grand Central Terminal terminates here in the PM Rush.
The Hudson Line is a commuter rail line owned and operated by the Metro-North Railroad in the U.S. state of New York. It runs north from New York City along the east shore of the Hudson River, terminating at Poughkeepsie. The line was originally the Hudson River Railroad, and eventually became the Hudson Division of the New York Central Railroad. It runs along what was the far southern leg of the Central's famed "Water Level Route" to Chicago.

Tremont station is a commuter rail stop on the Metro-North Railroad's Harlem Line, serving the Tremont section of the Bronx, New York City. The station is in an open cut at the intersection of Park Avenue and East Tremont Avenue. Service at Tremont is limited; trains stop every 30 minutes during rush hours, every hour otherwise. The station has two high-level side platforms, each two cars long, serving the outer tracks of the four-track line.

The station is located just north of the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Bedford Park Boulevard adjacent to northern Bronx Park and the New York Botanical Garden.
