The Rison Cities Service Station is a historic automobile service station at Main and Magnolia Streets in Rison, Arkansas. It is a distinctive modest brick English Revival structure built in 1938. It has a cross-gable roof, in which there is a small oculus in each of the gables. The front facade has large plate glass windows flanking a central doorway. It was built and operated by the Arkansas Fuel and Oil Company, which operated it from 1938 to 1969 as a Cities Service station. Since then it has been seen various commercial uses. [2]

The Mount Olivet Methodist Church is a historic church building located on the Cleveland County, Arkansas fairgrounds near Rison, Arkansas. It is a simple rectangular structure built c. 1875, with twin entrances on one of the gable ends. The long sides of the church have four windows, while the rear wall has two, and the exterior has minimal decoration. The interior is a single chamber, again with minimal styling. The church was rescued from demolition in 1975 by the Cleveland County Historical Society, which moved it to the fairgrounds to be part of a display recreating a 19th-century Arkansas village.

The Cleveland County Clerk's Building is a modest one-story wood-frame structure now located on the Cleveland County fairgrounds in Rison, Arkansas. Measuring 20 feet (6.1 m) wide and 32 feet (9.8 m) long, it was built in 1902 at a location near the present site of the county courthouse. It served as the office of the county clerk until about 1911, when the courthouse was completed. It was then rented to the local sheriff for personal use, and from 1921 to 1940 housed an office of the local agricultural extension service.

Phoenix Hotel (Rison, Arkansas) United States historic place

The Phoenix Hotel building at 180 Main Street is the most prominent and distinctive building in downtown Rison, Arkansas. It is a two-story brick building that was built in 1913 by Dr. T. H. Ackerman to replace a previous hotel building on the site. The most distinctive feature of its facade is a basket-handled arch that frames the recessed porch on the second floor. The roof line is more elaborate than that of other downtown buildings, with corbels and brick quoins decorating the roof edge. The hotel went through a modest number of owners before closing its doors in the 1960s.

The Murfreesboro Cities Service Station is a historic automotive service station on Arkansas Highway 26, facing the northeast side of the town square in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. It is a simple single-story brick building with a cross-gable roof and modest English Revival styling. It was built in 1939 by A. P. Terrell, a local builder, using bricks from a building that had previously stood on the site. It was operated as a Cities Service gas station into the 1980s, and was purchased by the Murfreesboro Community Foundation in 1989. The building plan for this structure is similar to that of other surviving Cities Service stations, including a station in Rison and another in Clinton.

The Memphis, Paris and Gulf Railroad Depot is a historic train station at the junction of Whitaker Avenue and Frisco Street in Ashdown, Arkansas. It is a single-story wood-frame structure in the Plain Traditional style with Folk Victorian elements. Notable decorative elements include brackets in the eaves and Stick-style woodwork in the gables. The exterior of the building is essentially original, while the interior has been extensively altered by multiple uses. The station was built in 1908 by the Memphis, Paris and Gulf Railroad, a regional railroad whose goal was to connect Memphis, Tennessee and Paris, Texas. The railroad was operated, under a variety of names and owners, offering passenger service until 1947 and freight service until 1993.

The Wittsburg Store and Gas Station is a historic retail establishment on Cross County Road 637 in Wittsburg, Arkansas. It is the only commercial building in the community. Built c. 1930, it is a single-story wood-frame structure with a gable roof and a false front. A shed-roof porch extends across the front, supported by for square posts. The main entrance is centered, flanked by sash windows. A gable-roofed section extends from the rear of the building, providing residential space for the shop, which occupies the main block. The building also features a concrete storm cellar, and there is a period gas pump to the building's southeast. The store operated from the 1930s to the 1980s, and is a reminder of Wittsburg's former status as a significant river town.

The Jonesboro, Lake City & Eastern Railroad Depot is a historic former railroad station in Manila, Arkansas. It is a modest single-story wood-frame structure with a gable roof, standing at the northwest corner of South Dewey and Baltimore Streets. The station was built in 1910 by the Jonesboro, Lake City and Eastern Railroad, and is a well-preserved example of a wood-frame board-and-batten station of the period. It is now owned by the city.

The Kansas City-Southern Depot is a historic railroad station at Arkansas Highway 59 and West North Street in Decatur, Arkansas. It is a long rectangular single-story structure, built out of concrete blocks. It has a hip roof with Craftsman-style brackets and two fisheye dormers, and a cross-gable projecting telegrapher's bay decorated with fish-scale wood shingles. It was built c. 1920 by the Kansas City Southern Railway.

The George D.D. Huie Grocery Store Building is a historic commercial building at 1400 North Pine Street in North Little Rock, Arkansas. It has a single-story front section with a gable roof, which housed the retail space, with a two-story rear section used as the proprietor's residence. This buff brick building was built by George Huie, a Chinese immigrant, in 1949 on the site of a store he had operated since 1938. The store is historically important for its role in the growth and development of the local Chinese community, and for its service to the historically African-American neighborhood in which it stands. It presently houses a small museum.

It is a small single-story structure, with sandstone walls and brick quoining at the corners and openings. The station was built about 1927 by Zeb Ferguson, in a style first popularized by the Pure Oil Company.

It is a single story stone structure, with a side gable roof and a central cross gable. It is T-shaped in layout, with an office to the left and service bay to the right. The office has a center entrance with flanking windows, and the service bay has wood panel doors. The building was built in 1938, using materials more commonly found at the time in residential construction.

Charlie Hall House United States historic place

The Charlie Hall House is a historic house at 221 Old United States Route 65 in Twin Groves, Arkansas. It is a single story masonry structure, built out of fieldstone with concrete and cream-colored brick trim. Its roofline has an irregular assortment of gables, with a front-facing gable featuring a chimney at its center. Built about 1938, it is the first known area house completed by Silas Owen, Sr., a local master mason. The coursing and layout of its stonework are one of Owens' highest quality works.

The Solomon Grove Smith–Hughes Building is a historic community building on Solomon Grove Road in Twin Groves, Arkansas. It is a single-story stone structure, built out of locally quarried stone and covered by a gable-on-hip roof. It was built in 1938 with funding support form the Works Progress Administration, and first served as a school. It was built by the African-American mason Silas Owens Sr. on land he sold to the city in 1937. It now houses a library.

Walter Patterson Filling Station United States historic place

The Walter Patterson Filling Station is a historic automotive service station building on United States Route 65 in central Clinton, Arkansas. It is a small single-story brick building, with a steeply pitched gable roof. The front of the building is symmetrical, with a central entrance flanked by square single-pane display windows, and a cross-gable above the entrance. Built in 1936, it is the only gas station from that period to survive in the city, and is a good example of commercial English Revival architecture.

Troy Lasater Service Station United States historic place

The Troy Lasater Service Station is a historic former automotive service station on Arkansas Highway 197 in New Blaine, Arkansas. It is a small single-story stone structure with a gabled roof, set in a small grassy area at the junction of AR 197 and Wood Lane. A cross gable is set above the entrance, which is on the left of the three-bay main facade. It was built in 1935 by Freeborn and Troy Lasater, and is a locally distinctive example of vernacular English Revival architecture. It was operated as a single-pump service station into the 1940s.
