Old Shawneetown is a village in Gallatin County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census, the village had a population of 193, down from 278 at the 2000 census. Located along the Ohio River, Shawneetown served as an important United States government administrative center for the Northwest Territory. The village was devastated by the Ohio River flood of 1937. The village's population was moved several miles inland to New Shawneetown.
The Cyrus McCormick Farm and Workshop is on the family farm of inventor Cyrus Hall McCormick known as Walnut Grove. Cyrus Hall McCormick improved and patented the mechanical reaper, which eventually led to the creation of the combine harvester. The farm is near Steele's Tavern and Raphine, close to the northern border of Rockbridge and Augusta counties in the U.S. state of Virginia, and is currently a museum run by the Virginia Agricultural Experimental Station of Virginia Tech. The museum has free admission and covers 5 acres (2.0 ha) of the initial 532-acre (215.3 ha) farm.
The Shawneetown Bank State Historic Site is an historic bank building in Old Shawneetown, Illinois, and is the oldest structure in Illinois built specifically as a bank. A Greek Revival structure built in 1839–1841 in what was then called Shawneetown, it was the home of a series of banks into the 20th century. The building is brick with a limestone front façade.
The C. H. Judd House is a historic farmhouse located in rural Jefferson County, Illinois, near the village of Belle Rive. The brick Victorian home was constructed in 1881. Most farmhouses constructed in Jefferson County in the 1880s were frame buildings, and few houses were built of sturdier brick. Furthermore, the majority of the brick farmhouses were either destroyed in an 1888 tornado or demolished, and the Judd House is the only surviving brick farmhouse from the era. The house was the home of C. H. Judd, a wealth farmer and local politician.

The John Marshall House Museum is a historic house museum located in Old Shawneetown, Illinois. The museum is a historically inaccurate reproduction of the John Marshall House, which was located at the site until 1974; the original house was demolished so that the reproduction could be constructed. The original house was built in the early 19th century for banker John Marshall, who ran the first bank in the Illinois Territory. At the time of its demolition, the house was one of the oldest surviving brick buildings in Illinois.
The Illinois Salines, also known as the Saline Springs or Great Salt Springs, is a salt spring site located along the Saline River in Gallatin County, Illinois. The site was a source of salt for Illinois' prehistoric settlers and is now an archaeological site with a large quantity of organic remains. After European settlement of Illinois, the salt springs became part of Illinois' first major industry and were one of the only places in Illinois where slavery was legal after 1818.
The Robinson-Stewart House is a historic house located at 110 S. Main Cross St. in Carmi, Illinois. Built in 1814 by John Craw, the house is the oldest in Carmi and one of the oldest in Illinois. Carmi was founded in an 1816 meeting at the house; the community's early settlers met there to choose the community's name, a reference to a biblical figure, and voted to plat its land. The house also served as White County's courthouse until 1828, when a separate courthouse building was constructed. In 1835, U.S. Senator John McCracken Robinson purchased the house; Robinson lived in the home until his death in 1843.
