Southwood is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. [1] Southwood is located along Delaware Route 7 immediately south of the Pennsylvania border.

It is situated at the junction of CSX Transportation's Philadelphia Subdivision and the Wilmington and Western Railroad, which operates tourist trains between Greenbank and Hockessin. Both lines were formerly owned by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
