Story Syndicate is an American film production and television production company founded in 2019 by Liz Garbus and Dan Cogan. The company primarily features documentary films and television series.

They have produced such films as All In: The Fight for Democracy (2020), Fauci (2021), and Becoming Cousteau (2021). They have also produced the television series The Innocence Files (2020), I'll Be Gone in the Dark (2020–21), Nuclear Family (2021), Harry & Meghan (2022), and Take Care of Maya (2023).

History

In June 2019, it was announced Liz Garbus and Dan Cogan would launch Story Syndicate, a production company, producing documentary and narrative film and television series. [1] [2]

The company has produced such films as All In: The Fight for Democracy (2020) directed by Garbus and Lisa Cortés, [3] Fauci (2021), directed by John Hoffman and Janet Tobias, [4] Becoming Cousteau (2021), directed by Garbus, [5] Britney vs. Spears (2021), directed by Erin Lee Carr, [6] and Mayor Pete directed by Jesse Moss. [7]

The company has also produced multiple documentary series including Harry & Meghan (2022), Stolen Youth: Inside the Cult at Sarah Lawrence (2023), [8] and Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York (2023). [9]

I'll Be Gone in the Dark is an American true crime documentary television series directed by Liz Garbus, Elizabeth Wolff, Myles Kane and Josh Koury, revolving around Michelle McNamara as she writes a book about and investigates the Golden State Killer. The original six-part series premiered on June 28, 2020, on HBO, and concluded on August 2, 2020. A special episode premiered on June 21, 2021.

Bob Berney is an American independent film executive based in Los Angeles. Currently, he is the CEO of Picturehouse, an independent motion picture marketing and distribution company that acquires, markets and distributes films from the U.S. and around the world. In September 2021, Picturehouse announced that it will release Becoming Cousteau, a documentary that uses previously unseen archival footage to chronicle the life and career of the adventurous oceanographer and filmmaker Jacques-Yves Cousteau, who coinvented scuba diving and foretold the impact of pollution on climate change. Directed by Liz Garbus, the film is scheduled to be released on October 22, 2021. In May 2021 the company released Fatima, a historical drama directed by Marco Pontecorvo and starring Joaquim de Almeida, Goran Višnjić, Stephanie Gil, Lúcia Moniz, Sônia Braga and Harvey Keitel.

Archewell Inc. is a Beverly Hills-based mix of for-profit and not-for-profit (charitable) business organizations registered in Delaware and founded in 2020 by Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
