On 11 July 2022, a Russian wave of shelling killed six people and injured 31 in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. [1]

Events

The mayor Ihor Terekhov said that the areas shelled were residential area with "no military significance", including several civilian houses, stores, a tire repair store, and a school. [2] [3] Reuters confirmed that at least one residential structure had been hit. [4] [5] Authorities said that six civilians had died, including a 17-year old teenager and his father. [1]

Oleh Synyehubov said that the Russians had used "artillery, multiple rocket launchers and tank attacks" on Kharkiv. [4]

The result of the Russian forces' attacks has been damage and destruction to civilian buildings including houses, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, nuclear power plants, historic buildings, and churches. As of the beginning of July, the attacks had resulted in the death of nearly 5,000 civilians including 335 children.

Missile strike on Chasiv Yar Russian missile attack in Ukraine

A missile strike on two residential buildings in Chasiv Yar was carried out by the Russian army at 21:17 local time on 9 July 2022, during the war between Russia and Ukraine. At least 48 people were killed. Due to the impact, a five-story residential building partially collapsed. Two entrances were completely destroyed.

On 11 July 2022, Ukrainian forces launched a missile attack on the Russian-occupied city of Nova Kakhovka during the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Russia said that Ukraine used HIMARS missiles for the operation, having recently acquired them from the United States.
