[1] All 62 councillors were elected from electoral divisions (two of which serve dual-councillor electoral divisions) for a four-year term of office. The system used is first-past-the-post voting.

1981 United Kingdom local elections

Local elections were held in the United Kingdom in May 1981. The results were a mid-term setback for the Conservative government, which lost 1,193 seats, leaving them with 10,545 councillors. The projected share of the vote was more respectable for the government, however: Labour 41%, Conservatives 38%, Liberals 17%. This was in spite of opinion polls showing a much wider Labour lead over the Conservatives. These were the first elections to be contested by Labour under the leadership of Michael Foot, who had succeeded James Callaghan in late 1980.

A total of 70 councillors were elected across the seven non-metropolitan districts that make up the administrative county of Lincolnshire from 70 single member electoral divisions by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. The election did not include North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire as they are separate unitary authorities.

2017 Suffolk County Council election

The 2017 Suffolk County Council election took place on 4 May 2017 as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. All 75 councillors were elected from 63 electoral divisions, which returned either one or two county councillors each, by first-past-the-post voting, for a four-year term of office.

2017 West Sussex County Council election

The 2017 West Sussex County Council election took place as part of the 2017 local elections in the UK. All councillors were elected for single-member electoral divisions for a four-year term. The voting system used was first-past-the-post.

2017 Cornwall Council election

The 2017 Cornwall Council election was held on 4 May 2017 as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. 122 councillors were elected from the 121 electoral divisions of Cornwall Council, which returned either one or two councillors each by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office. Although originally scheduled to take place on the same day, the election in the Bodmin St Petroc ward was countermanded following the death of Liberal Democrat candidate Steve Rogerson and was held on 8 June.

2017 Isle of Wight Council election

The 2017 Isle of Wight Council election took place on 4 May 2017 as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. All 40 Councillors were elected from 39 electoral divisions, which each returned either one or two Councillors by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office.

2017 Northumberland County Council election

The 2017 Northumberland County Council election took place on 4 May 2017 as part of the 2017 local elections in the United Kingdom. All 67 councillors were elected from 66 electoral divisions which returned either one or two county councillors each by first-past-the-post voting for a four-year term of office.

The 2004 Vale of Glamorgan Council election took place on Thursday 10 June 2004 to elect members of Vale of Glamorgan Council in Wales. This was the same day as many other local elections in Wales and England. The Conservatives remained the largest party but did not have a majority. The previous full council election was in 1999 and the next full council election was in May 2008.

All 75 councillors were elected from 63 electoral divisions, which return either one or two county councillors each, by first-past-the-post voting, for a four-year term of office.

2021 Staffordshire County Council election Staffordshire County Council election

Elections to Staffordshire County Council took place on 6 May 2021 on the same day as district council elections in Cannock Chase and Tamworth and other local elections in England. All of the council's divisions were up for election, meaning a total of 62 councillors were elected.
