Kamarudin bin Jaffar is a Malaysian politician who served as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for the second term in the Barisan Nasional (BN) administration under former Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob and former Minister Saifuddin Abdullah from August 2021 to the collapse of the BN administration in November 2022 and the first term in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under former Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin and former Minister Hishammudin Hussein from March 2020 to the collapse of the PN administration in August 2021, Member of Parliament (MP) for Bandar Tun Razak from May 2018 to November 2022, Deputy Minister of Transport in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and former Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020 and MP for Tumpat from November 1999 to May 2018. He is a member of the Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU), a component party of the PN coalition and was a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition, Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), a former component party of the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and Barisan Alternatif (BA) coalitions and United Malays National Organisation (UMNO), a component party of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.
General elections were held in Malaysia on Wednesday, 9 May 2018. At stake were all 222 seats in the Dewan Rakyat, the lower house of parliament. The 13th Parliament was dissolved by Prime Minister Najib Razak on 7 April 2018. It would have been automatically dissolved on 24 June 2018, five years after the first meeting of the first session of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia on 24 June 2013.
This is a list of the members of the Dewan Rakyat of the 13th Parliament of Malaysia. The opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat that contested the general elections in 2013 was dissolved after series of disagreements between two main parties, Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). A new opposition coalition Pakatan Harapan was formed by the DAP, People's Justice Party (PKR) and newly formed party National Trust Party (AMANAH), consisting of ex-PAS members. Several ex-UMNO members have also formed their own party Malaysian United Indigenous Party (BERSATU) and have signed an electoral pact with Pakatan Harapan to contest the future general election and ensure straight fights against Barisan Nasional. On 20 March 2017 BERSATU officially became a member of Pakatan Harapan.

The Alliance of Hope is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. It has been part of a "Unity Government" since November 2022 together with other political coalitions and parties as a result of the 2022 Malaysian general election, and previously for 22 months after it had won the 2018 Malaysian general election until February 2020 when it lost power as a result of the 2020 Malaysian political crisis at the federal level. The coalition deposed the Barisan Nasional coalition government during the 2018 election, ending its 60-year-long reign since independence.
A by-election was held for the Dewan Rakyat seat of P93 Sungai Besar, a parliamentary seat located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia on 18 June 2016 following the nomination day on 5 June 2016. The seat fell vacant after death of member of parliament Noriah Kasnon, who died in a helicopter crash on May 5, 2016 while campaigning in the Sarawak state election. Noriah Kasnon was also the Plantations Industries and Commodities Deputy Minister. In the 2013 general election, Noriah Kasnon won the seat with a majority of 399 votes beating Mohamed Salleh M Hussin of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). This by-election was held concurrently with the Kuala Kangsar by-election for the same reason.
A by-election was held on 4 August 2018 for the Selangor State Legislative Assembly seat of Sungai Kandis. The seat became vacant after the death of the former assemblyman, Mat Shuhaimi Shafiei from lymphatic cancer on 2 July 2018. Mat Shuhaimi was a member of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat, a component party of the state ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition. He won his seat after defeating BN, PAS and PRM candidates with a majority of 12,480 votes. It is the first by-election since the historic May 2018 general election that saw the first-ever change of federal government since independence.
Shuhaimi Shafiei was a Malaysian politician. Shafiei was a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) ruling coalition. Shuhaimi worked for former Menteri Besar of Selangor; Mohamed Azmin Ali as a secretary. Shafiei represented Sri Muda seat in the Selangor State Legislative Assembly for two terms (2008-2018), and won reelection for Sungai Kandis seat instead in 2018 general election. He defeated three other candidates, but was unable to attend the swearing in ceremony due to ill health condition.
A by-election was held on 8 September 2018 for the Selangor State Legislative Assembly seat of Balakong. The seat became vacant after the death of the incumbent assemblyman, Eddie Ng Tien Chee on 20 July 2018 in a traffic accident on the Cheras–Kajang Expressway. Eddie Ng was a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the state ruling Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. This was the second casual vacancy in the Assembly since the May 2018 general election after Sungai Kandis, which held a by-election in August 2018. The by-election will be held on the same day as the Seri Setia by-election. In the last 2018 general election, Ng defeated Barisan Nasional (BN)'s Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) candidate, Lim Chin Wah and Mohamad Ibrahim Ghazali of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), with a vote majority of 35,538.

The seat became vacant after the resignation of the incumbent member Danyal Balagopal Abdullah, a member of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and the governing Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition. This was the first federal by-election since the 9 May 2018 general election (GE14), which saw the first-ever change of federal government in Malaysia's history.

She served as the MLA for Balakong from September 2018 to August 2023. She is a member of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), a component party of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and formerly Pakatan Rakyat (PR) coalitions. She has also served as State Publicity Secretary of DAP of Selangor since November 2021. She previously served as Member of the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MBSJ), State Youth Chief of DAP Selangor or known as State Chief of the DAP youth wing namely the DAP Socialist Youth (DAPSY) of Selangor, National Assistant Publicity Secretary of DAPSY and Chief of DAPSY of Serdang.
Mohd Zawawi bin Ahmad Mughni is a Malaysian politician who served as Member of the Selangor State Executive Council (EXCO) in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) state administration under Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari from September 2020 and Member of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Sungai Kandis from August 2018 to August 2023. He is a member of the People's Justice Party (PKR), a component party of the PH coalition.

He is also the father of Anfaal Saari, the Member of the Selangor State Executive Council (EXCO), Taman Templer MLA and Deputy Women Chief of AMANAH.
