The 2019 Kawasaki Frontale season was their 15th consecutive season in J1 League. They were the defending champions after finishing top of 2018 J1 League. [1] They also competed in the Emperor's Cup, J.League Cup, Japanese Super Cup and AFC Champions League.

The 95th Emperor's Cup (第95回天皇杯全日本サッカー選手権大会) was the regular edition of the annual Japanese national cup tournament, which was held from 29 August 2015 to its final on 1 January 2016.

The 96th Emperor's Cup (第96回天皇杯全日本サッカー選手権大会) was the 2016 edition of the annual Japanese national cup tournament, which was held from 27 August 2016 to its final on 1 January 2017.

The 2018 Kawasaki Frontale season is their 14th consecutive season in J1 League, they are defending champions after finishing top of the 2017 J1 League. They will also compete in the J.League Cup, Emperor's Cup, and AFC Champions League.

The 2019 FC Tokyo season is their 8th consecutive season in J1 League after finishing the 2018 season in 6th place. They will also compete in the J.League Cup and Emperor's Cup.

The 2019 Emperor's Cup was the 99th edition of the annual Japanese national football cup tournament. The tournament began on 25 May and ended with the final on 1 January 2020. The final was the first event held at the National Stadium after its rebuilding.

The 2019 Kashima Antlers season involved the team competing in the J1 League, they finished 3rd in the 2018 J1 League. They also competed in the J.League Cup, Emperor's Cup, and AFC Champions League.

The 2019 season was Urawa Red Diamonds's 19th consecutive season in J1 League, after finishing 5th in the 2018 J1 League. The club also competed in the Emperor's Cup, J.League Cup, Japanese Super Cup and AFC Champions League. They reached the final of the latter competition, losing to Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia by a 0–3 aggregate score.

The 2020 season is Cerezo Osaka's fourth consecutive season in the top-division of Japanese football following promotion in 2016. In addition to the J1 League, the club also competes in the 2020 Emperor's Cup and the 2020 J.League Cup.

The 2021 season was Kawasaki Frontale's 17th consecutive season in the J1 League, where they lifted the title for the fourth time in five years. They also competed in the AFC Champions League, Emperor's Cup, J.League Cup, and the Japanese Super Cup.

The 2021 J.League Cup, known as the 2021 J.League YBC Levain Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the 29th edition of J.League Cup, a Japanese association football cup competition. It began on 2 March 2021 and ended on 30 October that year.

The 2022 season was Kawasaki Frontale's 18th consecutive season in the J1 League. They competed in the AFC Champions League, Emperor's Cup, J.League Cup, and the Japanese Super Cup. No major trophies were won by Frontale, however, their season performance at the J1 qualified them to the 2023-24 AFC Champions League, in which they qualified straight into the group stage.

The 2022 Gamba Osaka season was the club's 42nd season in existence and the ninth consecutive season in the top flight of Japanese football. In addition to the domestic league, Gamba Osaka participated in this season's editions of the Emperor's Cup and the J.League Cup.
