The Regional Four Day Competition, formerly known as the Shell Shield, Red Stripe, Busta and Carib Beer Cup, is the West Indies's first-class cricket competition that's run by Cricket West Indies. In the 2013–2014 season the winner of the tournament was awarded the WICB President's Trophy while the winners of the knockout competition were awarded the George Headley/Everton Weekes trophy. In a few previous seasons the winners of the tournament were awarded the Headley/Weekes trophy. On from the 2016–17 season, the Competition was sponsored by Digicel and was known as the Digicel Four Day Championship. Since 2019–20, the competition has been renamed as the West Indies Championship.
In the sport of cricket, the West Indies is a sporting confederation of fifteen mainly English-speaking Caribbean countries and territories, many of which historically formed the British West Indies. The 2019–20 Regional Super50 was the 46th edition of the Regional Super50, the domestic limited-overs cricket competition for the countries of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The tournament started on 6 November 2019, with the final taking place on 1 December 2019. The tournament featured the six regular teams of West Indian domestic cricket, the Combined Campuses and Colleges team and the West Indies Emerging Team. The national teams of the United States and Canada also took part. Combined Campuses and Colleges were the defending champions.

The West Indies Emerging Team won the previous edition of the competition.
Nyeem Young is a West Indian cricketer. Young was named in the West Indies' squads for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. At the 2020 tournament, in the Group B match against England, Young became the first cricketer for the West Indies to score a fifty and take a five wicket haul in the same U19 match. For his performance, he was named the man of the match.

The series was followed by the Headley–Weekes Trophy. The first two rounds of fixtures took place in February 2022, followed by a break until 15 March 2022. Barbados were the defending champions.
Ramon Romario Simmonds is a Barbadian cricketer, who is a left-arm fast medium bowler. He plays for Barbados cricket team in West Indian domestic cricket, having previously represented the West Indies under-19 cricket team.
The West Indies Academy, formerly known as West Indies Emerging Team is a cricket team, that plays first-class and List A cricket in the West Indian domestic circuit. The team has no geographical base, rather is made up of the emerging players and top youth performers in the Caribbean. They are currently captained by Nyeem Young, and coached by Andre Coley.
Kevlon Alston Anderson is a West Indian cricketer, who is a right-handed top order batsman. He plays for Guyana national cricket team, having previously represented the West Indies under-19 cricket team.
