    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Oommen Chandy</span> 10th Chief Minister of Kerala (1943–2023)

    Oommen Chandy was the 10th chief minister of Kerala, serving from 2004 to 2006 and 2011 to 2016. He served also as the leader of the opposition in the Kerala Legislative Assembly from 2006 to 2011.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Pinarayi Vijayan</span> 12th Chief Minister of Kerala

    Pinarayi Vijayan is an Indian politician who serves as the Chief Minister of Kerala since 25 May 2016. A member of the politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he is the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) (1998–2015). He has also served as Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives during the third E. K. Nayanar ministry. Vijayan won a seat in the May 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election and 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election as the CPI(M) candidate for Dharmadom constituency and was selected as the leader of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and became the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala. He is the first chief minister from Kerala to be re-elected after completing a full term in office. In 2022, he also became the longest-continuous serving chief minister of Kerala surpassing C. Achutha Menon who had been the first to remain in office for 2364 consecutive days.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Second Chandy ministry</span> Period in Indian politics, 2011–2016

    The United Democratic Front government led by Oommen Chandy sworn in on 18 May 2011. Seven of the total 20 members of the Cabinet took office on 18 May and the rest sworn in on 23 May after completing discussion with member parties of the UDF.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Silver Line (K-Rail)</span> Semi-high speed rail corridor

    The Silver Line is a proposed higher-speed rail line in India that would connect Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city, and Kasaragod of Kerala state. It will have an operating speed of 200 kilometres per hour (120 mph), Maximum Design Speed: 220 km/h (140 mph), structures designed for 250 km/h (160 mph) allowing trains to cover the 532-kilometre (331 mi) distance in less than four hours, compared to the present 10 to 12 hours it takes to traverse this distance. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Kochi, Thrissur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod will be the stations in this corridor. The project is temporarily halted by the state government till the Central government approval.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">First Vijayan ministry</span> Overview of 14th ministry of Kerala

    First Pinarayi Vijayan ministry is the Council of Ministers headed by Pinarayi Vijayan that was formed after the Left Democratic Front (LDF) won the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly elections. The Council assumed office on 25 May 2016. The ministry had a total of 19 ministers in the Cabinet at the time of swearing-in compared to 21 ministers in the previous government. Pinarayi Vijayan sworn in as 22nd Chief Minister of Kerala, 12th person to hold this position. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on 3 May 2021 submitted the resignation of the Council of Ministers headed by him to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan after winning a historic victory in the 15th legislative assembly elections by winning 99 of the 140 seats in the Assembly.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">P. A. Mohammed Riyas</span> Indian politician (born 1975)

    P. A. Mohammed Riyas is an Indian politician currently serving as the Minister for Public Works Department and Tourism, Government of Kerala. He is the Kerala state committee member of far left CPI(M), and the former All India President of the DYFI.

    Abhimanyu was a student activist stabbed to death in Maharaja's College, Ernakulam on 2 July 2018. He was a student of B.Sc. Chemistry.

    Elections to local bodies in Kerala were held in December 2020. Polling took place over 3 days; on 8, 10 and 14 December, with the votes counted and results announced on 16 December.

    <span class="mw-page-title-main">Second Vijayan ministry</span> Overview of 15th ministry of Kerala

    Second Pinarayi Vijayan Ministry is the Council of Ministers headed by Pinarayi Vijayan that was formed after winning in the 15th legislative assembly elections by bagging 99 of the 140 seats in the Assembly. The Council assumed office on 20 May 2021. The ministry is having a total of 21 ministers in the Cabinet compared to 20 ministers in the previous government.

    Nava Kerala Sadas was the outreach programme of the Kerala government, where the chief minister and ministers travelled through all assembly constituencies of the state. was a mass movement which was held by the Left Democratic Front, senior LDF leader and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to encourage the public to join hands with Government from Manjeswaram to Thiruvananthapuram, a journey of 589 kilometres over almost 36 days 140 Assembly constituencies.
