The People's Reform Party is a political party in the Philippines. Founded on April 12,1991,as the political party of former Agrarian Reform Secretary Miriam Defensor Santiago for her bid as president in the 1992 Presidential Elections. During the 1992 Elections,the party nominated Santiago as president and Ramon "Jun" Magsaysay,Jr. as vice president,however both Santiago and Magsaysay lost the elections to former Defense Secretary Fidel Ramos and then-Senator Joseph Estrada,respectively. The Force of Reform Philippines (FORPH) serves as the official youth-wing of the People's Reform Party. While under the same Miriam Defensor Santiago wing,the Youth Reform Movement is not related to the PRP.

Arthur "Art" Doligosa Defensor Sr. is a Filipino politician and a statesman who served as the governor of Iloilo from 1992 until 2001,and again from 2010 until 2019. He also served as Representative of the 3rd District of Iloilo from 2001 to 2010. He was the Majority Leader of the 14th Congress of the Philippines. He is currently a member of the PDP–Laban. He is married to Cosette Rivera Defensor.

The Governor of Iloilo is the local chief executive of the Philippine province of Iloilo. The governor holds office at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol located at Bonifacio Drive,Iloilo City. Like all local government heads in the Philippines,the governor is elected via popular vote,and may not be elected for a fourth consecutive term. In case of death,resignation or incapacity,the vice governor becomes the governor. Along with the governors of Aklan,Antique,Capiz,andGuimaras,he sits in the Regional Development Council of the Western Visayas Region.
Oscar "Richard" Serag Garin Jr. is a Filipino politician and civil engineer serving as the mayor of Miagao since 2022. He was previously the Representative of Iloilo's 1st district,Vice Governor of Iloilo,member of Iloilo's provincial board,and Mayor of Guimbal.
The COVID-19 pandemic in Western Visayas is part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus reached Western Visayas on March 20,2020,when the first case of the disease was confirmed in Bacolod. All provinces have at least one confirmed COVID-19 case.
