Ashfield is a local government district in western Nottinghamshire, England. According to the 2001 UK census, it has a population of 111,387, increasing to 119,497 at the 2011 Census. The district is mostly urban and contains parts of both the Nottingham Urban Area and the Mansfield Urban Area. The area has a tradition of coal mining. There are three towns in the district; the largest being Sutton-in-Ashfield. Settlements in the district include the following:
The Metropolitan Borough of Wigan is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, in North West England. It is named after its largest component town and former county borough, Wigan and includes the towns and villages of Leigh, part of Ashton-in-Makerfield, Ince-in-Makerfield, Hindley, Orrell, Standish, Atherton, Tyldesley, Golborne, Lowton, Billinge, Astley, Haigh and Aspull. The borough was formed in 1974 and is an amalgamation of several former local government districts and parishes. On 8 January 2018, during Theresa May's Cabinet reshuffle, Bradley was appointed as Vice Chair for Youth at CCHQ, but resigned on 10 July 2018 in protest at Theresa May's Brexit strategy plan, agreed at Chequers; a move which he felt unable explain to his constituents – the majority of whom he said had "voted to leave the EU".

Following the Fifth Electoral Review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland, minor changes were made to several of the ward boundaries and one additional Councillor was added moving the total number of Councillors from twenty-two to twenty-three.
The 2018 Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council election took place on 3 May 2018 to elect members of Kensington and Chelsea London Borough Council in England. The election was held on the same day as other local elections in England. While Kensington and Chelsea is usually regarded as a Conservative stronghold, there was media speculation that Labour could win control of the council in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire. However the Conservatives maintained control, losing just one Councillor, in St. Helen's Ward, winning 36 seats to Labour's 13.
