Bandi Ramakrishna Reddy is an Indian linguist,known for his work on conservation of endangered languages including Kuvi,Manda,and Kui. He is a professor at Osmania University. [2] [1]
He was born in Rentalachenu. He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees from Sri Venkateswara University. [2] He subsequently joined the Deccan College and obtained a degree in linguistics. [3]
Between 1970 and 1972,he worked at the Central Institute of Indian Languages. In 1972,he was awarded the Commonwealth Scholarship,and proceeded to the University of Edinburgh for doctoral studies. During his doctorate,he was supervised by Ronald E. Asher. [3] He obtained a PhD in 1977 presenting the thesis "Localist studies in Telugu syntax". [4]
Between 1977 and 1990,he worked at the Department of Linguistics at Osmania University. Afterwards,he joined the Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University. [3] He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2023. [5]
In 1995,he co-authored the Kuvi-Oriya-English dictionary. [3]
He was married to Professor Nagamma Reddy.
Osmania University is a collegiate public state university located in Hyderabad,Telangana,India. Bhadriraju Krishnamurti was an Indian linguist who specialised in Dravidian languages. He was born in Ongole in the Madras Presidency of British India. He was the vice-chancellor of the University of Hyderabad from 1986 to 1993,and founded the Department of Linguistics at Osmania University,where he served as a professor from 1962 to 1986. His magnum opus,The Dravidian Languages,is considered a landmark volume in the study of Dravidian linguistics.
Ashok Ramchandra Kelkar (1929–2014) was a linguist and critical Marathi writer from Maharashtra,India. He was honoured with the Padma Shri in 2002 and Sahitya Akademi Award for Marathi in 2010.

They founded and run the Natya Tarangini Institute of Kuchipudi Dance in New Delhi. The duo are credited with having given Kuchipudi a new dimension without compromising on its traditional virtues. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri,in 2006,for his contributions to Indian medicine.
Anumolu Ramakrishna (1939–2013) was an Indian civil and structural engineer,corporate executive and the deputy managing director of Larsen &Toubro Construction,the largest construction company in India as per 2013 statistics. He was credited with the introduction of system formwork and precast and prestressed concrete technologies in Indian construction industry,procedures which helped increase productivity,and was a co-founder of the India chapter of FSL - Global Forum on Structural Longevity. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan,posthumously in 2014,for his contributions to science and technology.
Velcheru Narayana Rao is an Indian author,critic,and literary translator. He is a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison in the Department of South Asian Studies. His work is primarily focused on Telugu literature for which he received the Sahitya Akademi Fellowship,the highest honour conferred by Sahitya Akademi,in February 2021.
Korada Mahadeva Sastri was an Indian linguist. His classic work Historical Grammar of Telugu was the first systematic study on the development of Telugu Language. It provides a survey of the historical development of the Telugu Language from the earliest times. This work helped decipher some Indus Valley seals. He was a founder member of the Dravidian Linguistics Association of India. He was awarded the 2011 C.P.Brown award and Sri Kalapurna award for his lifetime achievements.

He is notable for his contribution to Sikh literature He was former Professor in the Hindi Department and served as the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Languages,Kurukshetra University in Haryana.
