Dr. V. G Patel is the founder director of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.

Dr. V G Patel was an inspiration for many entrepreneurs in his lifetime.

Dr. V G Patel died on April 4, 2019. [1] He is author of The Seven Business Crisis & How to Beat Them (reissued as When the Going gets Tough), [2] Managing India's Small Industrial Economy (with V. Padmanand), [3] and Entrepreneurship Development Programme in India and its Relevance to Developing Countries.

He was awarded Padma Shri in 2017.

Indraprasad Gordhanbhai Patel popularly known as I. G. Patel, was an Indian economist and a career civil servant who served as the fourteenth Governor of the Reserve Bank of India from 1 December 1977 to 15 September 1982.

Bidhan Chandra Roy Award was instituted in 1962 in memory of B. C. Roy by Medical Council of India. The Award is given annually in each of the following categories: Statesmanship of the Highest Order in India, Medical man-cum-Statesman, Eminent Medical Person, Eminent person in Philosophy, Eminent person in Science and Eminent person in Arts. It is presented by President of India in New Delhi on July 1, National Doctors' Day. It was first awarded in 1973 to Sandip Mukerjee, FRCS, of Willingdon Hospital, New Delhi, by V. V. Giri, the then President of India.

He is the Washington Research Foundation Entrepreneurship Endowed Professor at the University of Washington in Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical Engineering, where he joined in 2008. His technology start-up company on energy sensing, Zensi, was acquired by Belkin International, Inc. in 2010. He was named a 2011 MacArthur Fellow. He was named the recipient of the 2018 ACM Prize in Computing for contributions to creative and practical sensing systems for sustainability and health.

Kurian John Melamparambil

Kurian John Melamparambil is an Indian philanthropist, industrialist and writer from Kerala. He is the founder and chief promoter of Melam Group Of Companies and the Melam Foundation. He may be the only personality in India who ventured into business to raise funds to provide free medical treatment to poor and needy patients. With his own generated funds, he has already provided free medical treatment to over 1,54,000 poor patients through 1050 hospitals He was honoured by the Government of India, in 2010, for his services to the social cause, with the fourth highest civilian award, the Padma Shri.

Bimal Patel (architect) Indian architect and urban planner

Bimal Patel is an architect from Gujarat, India, with over 35 years of professional, research and teaching experience in architecture, urban design and urban planning. He is the President of CEPT University in Ahmedabad and Chairman of the Board of Governors of the School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal. Dr. Patel leads HCP Design, Planning and Management Pvt. Ltd., an architecture, planning and project management firm. He also founded Environmental Planning Collaborative, a not-for-profit, planning research and advocacy organization.

Chintaman Govind Pandit, was an Indian virologist, writer and the founder director of the Indian Council of Medical Research. He secured his doctoral degree (PhD) from the University of London in 1922, worked as the director of King Institute of Preventive Medicine and Research, Chennai, before becoming the founder director of the Indian Council of Medical Research when the institution was established in 1948. After his superannuation in 1964, he was made the Emeritus Scientist of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).

Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India

The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India is an autonomous body and not-for-profit institute located Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Established in 1983, the institute offers master's degree programmes in Entrepreneurship, a fellowship programme and a number of entrepreneurship training programmes. The Institute's founding director was V. G. Patel.
