Vidya Vindu Singh (born 2 July 1945) is an Indian author in Hindi and Awadhi languages. She is best known for her broad work in folk and children's literature. [1] Singh has been awarded Padma Shri in 2022 by the Government of India for her contributions in the field of literature & education. [2]

She has published more than hundred works which include collections of poems, stories and Awadhi folk songs. [3] Moreover, she has also composed more than two dozen folk songs for the festival of Raksha Bandhan in Awadhi and other regional dialects of the region. [4] Apart from her contribution to literature, she is also known for her social work. [5]

Early life and education

Born in the Jaitpur village of Faizabad district in Uttar Pradesh, Vidya is the daughter of Devanarayan and Pranadevi Singh. [6]

Her initial education was completed from Jalalpur. Thereafter, she completed her M. A. in Hindi literature from Agra University followed by a PhD from Banaras Hindu University. [3]

Namvar Singh Hindi linguist

Namvar Singh was an Indian literary critic, linguist, academician and theoretician. He received his doctorate degree from Banaras Hindu University where he also taught for some time. He served as a professor of Hindi literature in several other universities. He was the founder and first chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru University's Centre of Indian Languages and continued to remain as a professor emeritus after his retirement in 1992.

Dr. Atmaram was an Indian scientist. In his memory, the Atmaram Award is given by the Central Institute of Hindi, an autonomous institute run by the Ministry of Human Resource Development of the Government of India. He was the Director of Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute and assumed the post of Director General of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research on 21 August 1966. Dinesh Pratap Singh Indian politician (born 1967)

Dinesh Pratap Singh is an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In 2019, he was linked in a political rivalry after a deadly attack on young local female politician Aditi Singh.

Thakur Zorawar Singh Barhath Indian revolutionary and freedom fighter (1883–1939)

Thakur Zorawar Singh Barhath was an Indian revolutionary and anti-British activist. He is known for the assassination attempt on the Viceroy of India, Lord Hardinge by throwing a bomb on him during the procession in New Delhi. He is also called "Chandra Shekhar Azad of Rajasthan".

Biharilal Chaturbhuj Arya is an Indian politician, Social worker and former member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for Mauranipur constituency of Uttar Pradesh, India. He is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and won the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Mauranipur constituency. In the 2017 election, he defeated Rashmi Arya by 17 thousand votes. Then Rashmi was a Samajwadi Party member. Bihari Lal Arya is originally a Congressman but in 2017 he had joined BJP before the elections. Biharilal became an MLA for the fourth time in 2017. Prior to this, he was MLA from Congress three times. he also was a minister in Kalyan Singh government formed in 1996.

Rakesh Pandey is an Indian writer and editor of an international Hindi magazine named “Pravasi Sansar”. He was born in Kasara, a village in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh on 27 August 1968. He has earned his Doctorate (PhD) in Analytical Study of Awadhi Folk Natya and Hindi Natya Kala. He has been a part of several World Hindi Conferences. He had interviewed the then Foreign Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj during the Vishwa Hindi Sammelan which was held in Bhopal.

Sanjay Nishad

Sanjay Nishad is an Indian politician serving as the Cabinet Minister in the Uttar Pradesh Governmemnt. He is also a Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from 2021. Belonging to Nishads, he founded Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal or NISHAD Party in 2016.

Sanjay Singh Gangwar is an Indian politician and a member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Pilibhit since March 2017 representing Bharatiya Janata Party. He is also a Minister of State in Second Yogi Adityanath ministry.

Annapurna Singh is an Indian politician. She is a member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from Varanasi since 2022 with no political affiliation. She is the wife of Don Brijesh Singh.
