P. Kilemsungla is an Indian educationist. She hails from Kohima, Nagaland. She is the first woman from Nagaland to be appointed as member of the Union Public Service Commission. [1] She has been selected for Padma Shri for her contribution in the field of literature and education.

Before being appointed as member of UPSC, she had served as a member of Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) between 1 February 2007 and 12 September 2012 and also worked as acting chairperson of NPSC from 13 September 2012 till her retirement on 31 January. Kilemsungla, a noted educationist, has been a lecturer in Kohima Arts College and also taught at the Nagaland College of Teachers Education (NCTE). She was also Principal of District Institute of Educational Training, Government Polytechnic and then NCTE, Kohima. [2]

Temsüla Ao was an Indian poet, fiction writer, and ethnographer. She was a professor of English at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) from where she retired in 2010. She served as the director of the North East Zone Cultural Centre between 1992 and 1997 on deputation from NEHU. She was awarded the Padma Shri award for her contribution to literature and education. Her book Laburnum For My Head received the Sahitya Akademi Award for English writing in the short story category. Her works have been translated into Assamese, Bengali, French, German, Hindi, and Kannada.

Kabonmili Timungpi later known as Bonily Khongmen was the first karbi person and was also among the first woman Indian politician in the Indian National Congress Party in the then North-East India. Hekani Jakhalu Kense is an Indian politician and social entrepreneur from Nagaland. She set up the non-governmental organization YouthNet to help the youths of Nagaland pursue business opportunities. She was recognised with the Nari Shakti Puraskar award in 2018.

Nagaland Lokayukta is the Parliamentary Ombudsman for the state of Nagaland (India). It is a high level statutory functionary, created to address grievances of the public against ministers, legislators, administration and public servants in issues related to misuse of power, mal-administration and corruption. It was first formed under the Nagaland Lokayukta and Deputy Lokayukta Act-2014 and approved by the president of India. The passage of Lokpal and Lokayukta's Act,2013 in Parliament had become law from 16 January 2014 and requires each state to appoint its Lokayukta within a year. Razhukhrielie Kevichüsa Meru was an Indian bureaucrat and musician from Nagaland. He served the Government of Nagaland as the administrative head of many significant departments in the state until his retirement in 2001. He was also a music composer and has composed a number of Angami gospel and secular songs, notably "Lie Me Re Vi Zhüte" and "Khrüthemvü", his most popular composed songs.

Salhoutuonuo Kruse is an Indian politician from Nagaland. In 2023, along with Hekani Jakhalu Kense, Kruse became the first woman to be elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. She was appointed the Minister for Women Resource Development & Horticulture in the 5th Rio ministry, making her also the first female cabinet minister in Nagaland. She previously served as a president of the Angami Women Organization.
