Christianity is a minority religion in Shandong province of China. Christianity in Henan, Christianity in Anhui and Christianity in Jiangsu are other major provincial Christian populations. [1] Cheeloo University is defunct. St. Michael's Cathedral, Qingdao and Sacred Heart Cathedral (Jinan) are churches of European style. Another European-style church is due to be built in Qufu, where Confucius originated. [2] This idea was or is opposed by Confucianist groups. [3] There is official action against house churches. [4]

Jinan, alternately romanized as Tsinan, is the capital of Shandong province in Eastern China. With a population of 9.2 million, it is the second-largest city in Shandong. Qingdao is a major city in eastern Shandong Province. The city's name in Chinese characters literally means "azure island". Located on China's Yellow Sea coast, it is a major nodal city of the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Initiative that connects Asia with Europe. It has the highest GDP of any city in the province. Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over seven districts and three county-level cities. As of the 2020 census, Qingdao built-up area made of the 7 urban Districts was home to 7,172,451 inhabitants. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders the prefecture-level cities of Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest.

Shandong University is a public research comprehensive university in Jinan, Shandong with one campus is Weihai, Shandong and one campus in Qingdao, Shandong and is supported directly by the national government. It is one of the largest universities in China by student population.

Qingdao Hainiu Football Club is a professional Chinese football club that currently participates in the China League Two division under licence from the Chinese Football Association (CFA). The team is based in Qingdao, Shandong and their home stadium is the Qingdao Tiantai Stadium that has a seating capacity of 20,525. Their current owners are the privately owned cable manufacturer Qingdao Jonoon Group.

Shinan District is an urban district of Qingdao, Shandong. It has an area of 30.01 square kilometres, and had approximately 588,800 inhabitants as of 2019. Shinan is located in coastal hilled terrain, and has a temperate monsoon climate. Common features include moderate temperatures, moist air, abundant rainfall, and four distinct seasons. It is notable for its early 20th-century German architecture, unusual in Chinese cities.

St. Michael's Cathedral, also called the Zhejiang Road Catholic Church, is a Catholic church in Qingdao (Tsingtao), Shandong Province, China and is the seat of the Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Qingdao (Tsingtao). It is located in the oldest part of Qingdao, at 15 Zhejiang Road, on the east side of Zhongshan Road in Shinan District. Built by German missionaries, the cathedral stands at the top of a hill in the center of the old German-built part of the city. It is the largest example of Romanesque Revival architecture in the province, resembling a German cathedral of the 12th century.

The Sacred Heart Cathedral, commonly called the Hongjialou Cathedral, is the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Jinan in the city of Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, China. It is the largest church in the region and a landmark of Jinan.

Christianity is a minority in Fujian province of China. The Shouters are present in the province. Churches in Fujian include The Aowei Church of Holy Rosary, Church of Heavenly Peace, Fuzhou, Flower Lane Church, Saint Dominic's Cathedral, Fuzhou and St. John's Church, Fuzhou. Christianity in Fuqing consisted of 350,000 Christians in the 2000s and is a centre of Christianity. The local churches (affiliation) are estimated to include about half of them. The number of members of the Three-Self Patriotic Movement in Fujian is a high 6-digit figure at least. There are at least 80,000 members of the True Jesus Church in the province. Fujian has many house churches. Christianity has been present in Fujian for centuries. The People's Republic of China has persecution of Christians. Unregistered Catholics are controlled tightly in the province. A house church in Pingtan in Fujian province was demolished in 2006.

The Jinan–Qingdao high-speed railway or Jiqing high-speed railway is a high-speed railway between Qingdao and Jinan, the two main cities of Shandong province. Currently, Qingdao and Jinan is served by a quadruple track railway corridor consisting of the high-speed Qingdao–Jinan Passenger Railway and the conventional Qingdao–Jinan Railway. This new railway is a part of the Qingdao–Yinchuan corridor, one of the 8+8 national high-speed rail gridline, and provides further relief to rail transport between Qingdao and Jinan. Planning was approved by the NDRC on June 10, 2014 with construction starting a year later. Tracklaying started in 2017 and the whole line was opened on 26 December 2018. The railway shortens travel times between Qingdao and Jinan to 1 hour. This is in contrast to the 2.5 hours needed on the Qingdao–Jinan Passenger Railway and 4 hours on the original conventional Qingdao–Jinan Railway.
