City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is the local authority of the City of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. It is a metropolitan district council, one of five in West Yorkshire and one of 36 in the metropolitan counties of England, and provides the majority of local government services in Bradford. Since 1 April 2014 it has been a constituent council of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Cllr. Colin Gill resigned in September 2008 due to strain the position had placed on his professional life. [2] John Pennington was elected in a by-election in December 2008, retaining the seat for the Conservative Party. [3]

The Liberal Democrats are a liberal political party in the United Kingdom. The Labour Party is a centre-left political party in the United Kingdom which has been described as an alliance of social democrats, democratic socialists and trade unionists. The party's platform emphasises greater state intervention, social justice and strengthening workers' rights.

Cllr. Paul Flowers (Labour Party) stood down in 2011 after "adult content" was found on a council computer he had used. [5] Abdul Jabar retained the seat for the party in a by-election later the same year. [6]
Paul John Flowers is an English local politician and former Methodist minister. He is a former Labour councillor in Rochdale and Bradford, and was non-executive chairman of the Co-operative Bank.
