Utah Supreme Court the highest court in the U.S. state of Utah

The Utah Supreme Court is the supreme court of the state of Utah, United States. It has final authority of interpretation of the Utah Constitution. The Utah Supreme Court is composed of five members: a chief justice, an associate chief justice, and three justices. All justices are appointed by the governor of Utah, with confirmation by the Utah Senate. The five justices vote among themselves for the position of chief justice and associate chief justice, who each serve a term of four years.

The Utah Court of Appeals is the intermediate-level appellate court for the state of Utah. It began operations in 1987.

Thomas Rex Lee American judge

Thomas Rex Lee is the Associate Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. Lee is also a lecturer on law at Harvard Law School and an adjunct professor/distinguished lecturer at Brigham Young University's (BYU) J. Reuben Clark Law School (JRCL) since his appointment to the bench.

Matthew B. Durrant is the Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. He is a graduate of both Brigham Young University and Harvard Law School. Durrant had a clerkship with Judge Monroe McKay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, a position as a lawyer for the Utah firm Parr, Brown, Gee, and Loveless for over a decade, and time spent on the bench of Utah's Third Judicial District.

Ronald E. Nehring was a Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court in 2003 by Utah Governor Michael Leavitt, and he retired in 2015.

Jill Niederhauser Parrish is a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Utah and a former justice of the Utah Supreme Court.

Glenn K. Iwasaki is a Utah attorney. He served as State Court Judge for the Third Judicial District Court, which serves Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties of Utah. He was appointed to the bench in July of 1992 by Governor Norman H. Bangerter, and has served there since. He retired on September 30, 2011.

Justice "Deno" Himonas is originally from Price, Utah and has Greek heritage. Prior to taking the bench, Himonas worked for 15 years at the law firm of Jones, Waldo, Holbrook & McDonough.
