Interstate 78 (I-78) is an east–west Interstate Highway in the Northeastern United States, running 144 miles (232 km) from I-81 northeast of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, through Allentown to western and northern New Jersey and terminating at the Holland Tunnel entrance to Lower Manhattan in New York City. Major metropolitan areas along its route include the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania, the Gateway Region in New Jersey, and the New York metropolitan area.
Perry County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 45,842. The county seat is New Bloomfield. The county was created on March 22, 1820, and was named for Oliver Hazard Perry, a hero of the War of 1812, who had recently died. It was originally part of Cumberland County and was created in part because residents did not want to travel over the mountain to Carlisle, the county seat of Cumberland County. Landisburg became the temporary county seat before New Bloomfield was ultimately chosen.
Mifflin County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,143. Its county seat is Lewistown. The county was created on September 19, 1789, from parts of Cumberland County and Northumberland County. It was named for Thomas Mifflin, the first Governor of Pennsylvania. Mifflin County comprises the Lewistown, PA Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The county was created on March 22, 1813, from part of Northumberland County. It was named Columbia, alluding to the United States and Christopher Columbus.
Seward County is a county in the U.S. state of Nebraska, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 17,609. Its county seat is Seward. The county was formed in 1855, and was organized in 1867. It was originally called Greene County, and in 1862 it was renamed for William H. Seward, Secretary of State under Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. Seward County is part of the Lincoln, NE Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Orson is a village in Preston Township, Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States, situated in the Lake Region of the Poconos. It was once an important depot of the Scranton Division of the New York, Ontario & Western (O&W) Railway, but today, when it is known outside of its immediate vicinity, it is largely for being the site of the intersection of two state roads, Belmont Turnpike and Crosstown Highway, or as the location of Independent Lake Camp (ILC), since ILC's reputation and commercial reach, like those of most rural American summer camps, extend beyond the community in which the camp is physically located.

Maryland Route 953 is a state highway in the U.S. state of Maryland. Known as Glenn Dale Road, the state highway runs 3.53 miles (5.68 km) from MD 193 north to a dead end at Amtrak's Northeast Corridor railroad line within Glenn Dale. MD 953 is the old alignment of MD 193, part of which was originally MD 199. MD 199 was a short route constructed north from what is now MD 450 in the mid-1920s and removed from the state highway system in the mid-1950s. MD 193 was extended east and south from Greenbelt over the length of Glenn Dale Road to just north of U.S. Route 50 in the mid-1960s. After MD 193 was placed on a new divided highway through Glenn Dale in the mid-1980s, MD 953 was assigned to Glenn Dale Road.

Pennsylvania Route 848 (PA 848) is a 6.66-mile-long (10.72 km) state highway located in Susquehanna County in Pennsylvania. The western terminus is at U.S. Route 11 (US 11) just south of PA 492 in New Milford. The eastern terminus is at PA 547 in Gibson Township. PA 848 remains as a former portion of PA 371, which was originally designated in 1936 from New Milford to the New York state line. The highway was designated as PA 848 in 1961, seven years after it was truncated from New Milford.
New Lisbon is an unincorporated community located within Pemberton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is a settlement along Four Mile Road where it intersects Mount Misery Road. The community is located along the Philadelphia and Long Branch Railway, later a part of the Pennsylvania Railroad, and featured a train station.

The 2018 United States Senate election in Pennsylvania took place on November 6, 2018, to elect a member of the United States Senate to represent the State of Pennsylvania, concurrently with other elections to the United States Senate, elections to the United States House of Representatives, and various state and local elections. The primary elections were held on May 15. Incumbent Democratic Senator Bob Casey Jr. ran for re-election to a third term. Casey, who faced no primary opposition, defeated the Republican nominee, Lou Barletta, Green Party nominee Neal Gale, and Libertarian Party nominee Dale Kerns. Casey was the first senator to be elected to a third term from Pennsylvania since Arlen Specter in 1992, and the first Pennsylvania Democrat to be popularly elected to three terms in the Senate.
