Somerset Township is a township in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 12,122 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Metropolitan Statistical Area and encompasses the census-designated place (CDP) of Friedens, Pennsylvania.

Anoatok, now Kane Manor Inn, is an historic residence which is located in Kane, Pennsylvania, in McKean County. Commissioned by the author, physician and women's rights activist Elizabeth Dennistoun Wood Kane (1836–1909), one of the first women to enroll in the Medical College of Pennsylvania and the widow of American Civil War General Thomas L. Kane (1822–1883), the home was erected in 1896 after being designed for Elizabeth Kane by Cope & Stewardson, one of the most prominent architecture firms of the late 1800s and early 1900s. The mansion's name alludes to the exploits of her late brother-in-law and Arctic explorer Elisha Kent Kane.

The district includes Old Main (1930), the Faculty Club (1976), Nittany Lion Inn (1930), Recreation Hall (1928), West Halls Complex (1922-1937), University Club (1916), the President's Mansion, Pattee Library (1938), Schwab Auditorium (1902), and a number of fraternities, sororities, and classroom buildings. The buildings reflect a number of popular early-20th-century architectural styles including Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, and Georgian Revival. A focal point of the district is the Nittany Lion Shrine (1942).

The house operated as an inn and tavern during the National Road boom period; from the 1820s to the 1850s.
Miller's Store, also known as Trent House and General Store and Trenthouse Inn and Country Store, is a historic commercial building located at Trent in Middlecreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1885, and expanded about 1895. It is a large, 2 1/2-story, "U"-shaped, Queen Anne style building designed to house a general store, post office, and hotel. On the corner of the front facade is a two-story, hexagonal tower with a faceted conical roof and copper finial. It features a wraparound porch.

Kirks Mills Historic District is a national historic district located at Little Britain Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 12 contributing buildings in the village of Kirks Mills. They are Jacob Kirk's Mansion House, Brick Mill / Kirk's Mill, the brick miller's house, stone and log barn converted to a residence in 1975, Joseph Reynold's House (1825), Eastland Friend's Meeting and Tenant House, Ephriam B. Lynch House (1880s), Harry Reynolds House, Manuel Reynolds House, Eastland School House (1838), and Log House. The Jacob Kirk's Mansion House is a three-story, brick dwelling with a two-story ell. It features a full porch on the front and right sides. Kirk's Mill is a 2+1⁄2-story brick building with a slate gable roof. It was remodeled to a residence about 1940.

Robesonia Furnace Historic District, also known as Reading Furnace and Robesonia Iron Co. Ltd., is a historic "iron plantation" and national historic district located in Robesonia, Berks County, Pennsylvania. The district encompasses 35 contributing buildings and 2 contributing sites. They include 1 1/2-story single worker's housing built about 1825; stone, frame, and slag block duplexes built about 1845, 1890, and 1910; and bungalows built between about 1913 and 1915. Other notable buildings are the Second Empire style George Taylor Mansion, creamery building, and shed with cupola; log and stone furnace boarding house ; miller's house ; fire station ; Georgian style ironmaster's mansion, or Ege Mansion ; and Italianate style furnace office. The sites are the industrial remains of Robesonia Furnace, demolished in 1927 after acquisition by Bethlehem Steel. The furnace was established in 1794 by George Ege.

It has a gable roof with dormers added in the 1830s and a semi-circular entrance portico added in the 1940s.

The buildings are predominantly 2 1/2-story, stone and frame, gable roofed structures reflective of vernacular Greek Revival, Italianate, and Bungalow/craftsman styles. Notable buildings include "The Brambles," Thomas Schwartz House, Stover Mansion, Point Pleasant School (1850), Baptist Church (1852), Point Pleasant Hotel, Jacob Sutters Hotel, Waterman's Inn (1832), and the Stover Grist and Saw Mill. The contributing structures are four bridges that cross the Pennsylvania Canal.

Mills General Store, Salem United Methodist Church, Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church (1872), Grace Church (1888), and Franklin Grange Building. Located within the district is the separately listed John Eakin Farm (1738).
Ship Inn is a historic inn and tavern located in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1796, and is a two-story, six bay, Georgian style stone building with brick chimneys. The main block measures 50 feet by 37 feet, with a rear kitchen wing measuring 29 feet by 20 feet. It remained in operation as an inn until 1854. In the 20th century, a restaurant opened in the building.
Fox Chase Inn is a historic inn and tavern located in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The original section was built about 1765, and is a two-story, two bay, rectangular stone structure in the "Penn Plan." It was later expanded to a two-story, four bay, double entrance Georgian style building. It has a full-width front porch. The building housed an inn and tavern until 1800.
General Washington Inn is a historic inn and tavern located at Downingtown, Chester County, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1761, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, fieldstone and limestone structure measuring 62 feet, 6 inches, by 35 feet. The front facade features a one-story, full width verandah. Its design details reflect a mix of Georgian and Federal styles. It was the site of the first post office in Chester County, established in 1796.
