Gaur Yamuna City is a group housing residential city located near Yamuna Expressway. Spread over 101 hectares (250 acres), [1] Gaur Yamuna City is being developed by Gaursons India, through the construction of plots, villas, and apartments. The township has 20,000 residential apartments as well as hospitals, schools, and commercial complexes. [2]
The land on which Gaur Yamuna City resides was originally part of the Dankaur Village and after its acquisition, the land was allocated to Jaypee Group for the development of Yamuna Expressway. This land acquisition saw protests by farmers in 2011 and the issue was resolved when farmers got additional compensation for their land and 7% of the developed land in lieu of the acquired land. [3] Gaursons India purchased this land from Jaypee Group for ₹1500 crore [4] and will be investing ₹5000 crore in its development over the next 4 years starting in 2014. [5] It is the first integrated township on the Yamuna expressway which will connect to the upcoming Jewar Airport.
Noida, short for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, is a city located in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Noida is a satellite city of Delhi and is a part of the National Capital Region. As per provisional reports of Census of India, the population of Noida in 2011 was 642,381. Greater Noida is a planned city located in the Gautam Buddha Nagar district of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Yamuna Expressway is a 6-lane wide and 165.5 km (102.8 mi) long access-controlled expressway in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is presently India's sixth longest expressway and connects Greater Noida with Agra. It was built to de-congest the older Delhi–Agra national highway (NH-2) or Mathura Road.
The Eastern Peripheral Expressway (EPE) or Kundli–Ghaziabad–Palwal Expressway is a 135 km (84 mi) long, 6-lane wide expressway passing through the states of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in India. The expressway starts from the Western Peripheral Expressway at Kundli, Sonipat, passing through Baghpat, Ghaziabad and Noida districts in UP and Faridabad district in Haryana before rejoining the Western Peripheral Expressway near Dholagarh, Palwal. OKOS Gokarting is also located in Kokapet. A Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) is being planned in Kokapet area. The earlier proposed elevated bus rapid transit system (EBRTS) project, also known as Metro Neo from Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) to Narsingi covering the IT corridor like Kokapet has been put in cold storage by Government of Telangana.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh in India, has faced protests against its proposed forced land acquisition in 2011. These protests have been centred on the twin adjacent villages of Bhatta and Parsaul near Dankaur in Gautam Buddha Nagar district and have resulted in sporadic incidents of violence since January of that year. In August 2010 there had been protests against the state government in Delhi and these had resulted in three deaths.
