Gryphon Airlines is an American-owned airline based in Vienna, Virginia, United States, in the Washington, D.C. area. It was the subsidiary of Ryan International Air which provided contracted service to various American airbases in the Middle East. It became the first airline to offer scheduled flights to the military side of Baghdad Airport, when these flights began in March 2007. [1] The airline suspended operations in 2012 as a result of Ryan Airlines filed for bankruptcy. [2]
