Kalitta Charters is an American charter airline headquartered in Ypsilanti, Michigan, with its main base at Willow Run Airport. [2]
The company is owned and run by Doug Kalitta, nephew of Kalitta Air founder Connie Kalitta. Kalitta Charters is now the sole company with a contract with the US government to fly service members' remains to their final resting places. Kalitta Charters offers Executive Charter, Air Ambulance & Air Cargo services, and a FAR Part 145 aircraft repair station at their operating facility in Ypsilanti, Michigan. In August 2015, Kalitta Charters acquired AirNet. [3]
In April 2024, Kalitta Charters retired their remaining Boeing 727s, previously being one of the last operators worldwide. [4]

AirNet is an American Part 135 cargo airline based in Franklin County, Ohio, United States, near Columbus. It specializes in delivery of documents and small packages. Banks were once their main client, transporting checks for over 300 of the country's largest banks. With the passing of the Check 21 Act, and the increase in the usage of electronic banking, this has been greatly reduced. AirNet is now focusing on time critical documents and packages, such as those required in the scientific and medical field. The main sort facility is located at Rickenbacker International Airport in Columbus. Due to its very close proximity to Detroit Metropolitan Airport, no major airlines schedule passenger flights to or from Willow Run. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a national reliever airport facility.
