Guillotine is a progressive metal band from Delhi. They play melodies ranging from blues, jazz to death metal. The band has released one album The Cynic in 2010. [1] They indicate that their original tracks are basically a part of a three tier concept of a man's realisation of the hollowness of religious faith. The Cynic is a concept album about a man who is an atheist and frustrated by the fact that religion has taken over society.
Guillotine Won first prize at the coveted Rocktaves held at BITS, Pilani in the year 2009.
At the annual National Rock Contest held in Nagaland in the Hornbill Festival [2] in 2010, Guillotine won the second prize. And Akshat Taneja winning the best keyboard player award.
After a nationwide competition, Guillotine were chosen to open for Metallica in Gurgaon. [3] [4] [5] [6] After the Gurgaon show was cancelled, [7] [8] [9] they opened the Rock 'N India 2011 show along with Inner Sanctum and Scottish Band Biffy Clyro for Metallica on 30 October 2011. [10] [11]
They state Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation, Guthrie Govan, Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, Greg Howe, Deep Purple are among their major influences.

Metallica is an American heavy metal band. It was formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, and has been based in San Francisco for most of its career. Nerverek is an Indian progressive metal band formed in Chennai, India. The band won Campus Rock Idols '07, becoming the first South Indian band to win the national inter-college contest. They performed recently as the opening act for international act, the Scorpions in Bangalore and also opened for Iron Maiden in their tour to India at Mumbai on 1 February 2008. In January 2011, they opened for Pain of Salvation along with Bicycle Days at Saarang 2011, the annual cultural festival of IIT Madras.

Agam is a Bangalore-based contemporary Carnatic progressive rock band. The band was formed in the year 2003. The current lineup consists of Harish Sivaramakrishnan (vocals) Swamy Seetharaman, T Praveen Kumar, Aditya Kasyap, Sivakumar Nagarajan, Jagadish Natarajan and Yadhunandan (Drummer). Jagadish Natarajan replaced Suraj Satheesh as the rhythm guitarist in 2012 but the lineup of the band has otherwise remained same. Vignesh Lakshminarayanan was replaced by Aditya Kasyap on bass and backing vocals. Agam is often featured on the Malayalam music channel Kappa TV.
