HD 212771, also named Lionrock, is a solitary star in the southern zodiac constellation Aquarius. It has an apparent magnitude of 7.60, [2] making it readily visible with binoculars but not the naked eye. Parallax measurements place the object at a distance of 364 light years, [1] and is currently receding with a radial velocity of 15 km/s . [5]
HD 212771 has a stellar classification of G8 IV, [3] indicating that it is a subgiant evolving towards the red giant branch after being an F-type main-sequence star for 1.7 billion years. [8] It has 142% the mass of the Sun and 4.4 times its radius. It radiates at 11.67 solar luminosities from its slightly enlarged photosphere at an effective temperature of 5,065 K, [7] giving it a yellow-hue. Unlike most planetary hosts, HD 212771 is slightly metal deficient, and spins with a projected rotational velocity of about 2 km/s . [8]
In 2010, a group of astronomers at the Keck Observatory surveyed several subgiant stars for extrasolar planets via Doppler spectroscopy They happened to find a massive Jupiter-like planet orbiting HD 212771. [9]
HD 212771 is named Lionrock. The name was selected in the NameExoWorlds campaign by Hong Kong, during the 100th anniversary of the IAU. It is named after the Lion Rock. The planet is named Victoriapeak, after the Victoria Peak. [10] [11]

HD 63454, formally named Ceibo, is a star located in the southern circumpolar constellation Chamaeleon near the border with Mensa. To see the star, one needs a small telescope because it has an apparent magnitude of 9.36, which is below the limit for naked eye visibility. The object is located relatively close at a distance of 123 light years based on Gaia DR3 parallax measurements but is receding with a heliocentric radial velocity of 33.8 km/s. At its current distance, HD 63454's brightness is diminished by two tenths of a magnitude due to interstellar dust. It has an absolute magnitude of +6.68.
λ Telescopii, Latinized as Lambda Telescopii, is a solitary, bluish-white hued star located in the southern constellation of Telescopium. It has an apparent magnitude of 4.84, making it readily visible to the naked eye under ideal conditions. Gaia DR3 parallax measurements imply a distance of 490 light years, and it is currently approaching the Solar System with a somewhat constrained heliocentric radial velocity of −2 km/s. At its current distance, the visual magnitude of Lambda Telescopii is diminished by an extinction of 0.25 due to interstellar dust and it has an absolute magnitude of −1.51.
HD 190984, also known as HIP 99496, is a star located in the southern circumpolar constellation Pavo, the peacock. It has an apparent magnitude of 8.76, making it readily visible in small telescopes, but not to the naked eye. Based on parallax measurements from the Gaia spacecraft, the object is estimated to be 486 light years away from the Solar System. It appears to be receding with a heliocentric radial velocity of 20.3 km/s.
HD 24479, also designated as HR 1204, is a solitary, bluish-white hued star located in the northern circumpolar constellation Camelopardalis. The star is visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 5.04. Based on Gaia DR3 parallax measurements, it is located 385 light years from the Sun. However, it is receding with a somewhat constrained heliocentric radial velocity of 4.6 km/s. At its current distance, HD 24479's brightness is diminished by 0.29 magnitudes due to interstellar dust.
3 Piscis Austrini, also known as HD 201901 or simply 3 PsA, is an astrometric binary located in the southern constellation Microscopium. It was once part of Piscis Austrinus, the southern fish. The system has a combined apparent magnitude of 5.39, making it faintly visible to the naked eye under ideal conditions. Gaia DR3 parallax measurements imply a distance of 404 light years and it is currently approaching the Solar System with a heliocentric radial velocity of −46.2 km/s. At its current distance, 3 PsA's brightness is diminished by 0.12 magnitudes due to extinction from interstellar dust and it has an absolute magnitude of +0.19.
HD 96146 is a binary star located in the southern constellation Antlia. The system has a combined apparent magnitude of 5.41, making it visible to the naked eye under ideal conditions. Parallax measurements from the Gaia spacecraft place the pair at a distance of 710 light years with a large margin of error. HD 76236, also designated as HR 3543 or rarely 11 G. Chamaeleontis, is a solitary star located in the southern circumpolar constellation Chamaeleon. It is faintly visible to the naked eye as an orange-hued star with an apparent magnitude of 5.77. Based on parallax measurements from the Gaia satellite, the object is estimated to be 612 light years away. Currently, it is receding with a heliocentric radial velocity of 7 km/s. At its current distance, HD 76236's brightness is diminished by 0.39 magnitudes due to interstellar dust. It has an absolute magnitude of −0.13.
HD 72945 and HD 72946 form a co-moving star system in the northern constellation of Cancer.
