Jach'a Jawira [1] (Aymara jach'a big, great, jawira river, [2] "great river", hispanicized spellings Jacha Jahuira, Jachcha Jahuira) which downstream is named Japha Jawira is a Bolivian river east of Lake Titicaca in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality and in the Omasuyos Province, Achacachi Municipality. Aymara is an Aymaran language spoken by the Aymara people of the Andes. It is one of only a handful of Native American languages with over one million speakers. Aymara, along with Spanish, is an official language of Bolivia. It is also spoken, to a much lesser extent, by some communities in southern Peru and in northern Chile, where it is a recognized minority language.

Bolivia, officially the Plurinational State of Bolivia, is a landlocked country located in western-central South America. The capital is Sucre, while the seat of government and financial center is located in La Paz. The largest city and principal industrial center is Santa Cruz de la Sierra, located on the Llanos Orientales, a mostly flat region in the east of the country.

Lake Titicaca lake in Peru and Bolivia

Titicaca is a large, deep lake in the Andes on the border of Bolivia and Peru, often called the "highest navigable lake" in the world. By volume of water and by surface area, it is the largest lake in South America. Lake Maracaibo has a larger surface area, but it is a tidal bay, not a lake.

The river originates in the Cordillera Real from the confluence of streams from Jach'a Pata, Janq'u Uyu, Wila Lluxita and Qulin Tuqu near a lake named Janq'u Quta. [3] At first it flows in a southwestern direction connecting the lakes named Janq'u Quta, Quta Thiya, Q'ara Quta and Jichu Quta. After leaving Q'ara Quta it flows almost parallel to the nearby Surikiña River south of it. East of Peñas it turns to the northwest. Southeast of Achacachi it unifies with the Qiqa Jawira which reaches Lake Titicaca northwest of the town near the mouth of the Ch'iyar Juqhu River.

Cordillera Real (Bolivia) mountain range

The Cordillera Real is a mountain range in the South American Altiplano of Bolivia. This range of fold mountains, largely composed of granite, is located southeast of Lake Titicaca, and east of the Bolivian capital of La Paz, measuring 125 km in length and 20 km in width. Despite the fact that it is only 17° south of the Equator, the Cordillera Real is relatively densely glaciated. This is due to its proximity to the Amazon lowlands with its associated moist air masses.

Jacha Pata

Jach'a Pata is a 5,424-metre-high (17,795 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality. Jach'a Pata lies south of Jisk'a Pata, west of Janq'u Uyu, north of Wila Lluxi and north-east of Warawarani.

Janq'u Uyu is a mountain in the Andes, about 5,512 m (18,084 ft) high, located in the Cordillera Real of Bolivia in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Batallas Municipality, Chachakumani Canton on the border with Larecaja Province, Guanay Municipality, Challana Canton. It is situated at the very end of the Janq'u Quta valley between Jisk'a Pata in the north-west and Wila Lluxita in the east, north of Wila Lluxi and Phaq'u Kiwuta.

Katari River which upstream successively is named Jach'a Jawira, Colorado, Mani and then Colorado again is a river in the La Paz Department of Bolivia, about 90 km long, southeast of Lake Titicaca. It empties into Wiñaymarka Lake, the southern part of Lake Titicaca.

Jach'a Jawira is a Bolivian river north of Coipasa Lake in the Oruro Department. Coming from the Waylla Marka range northwest of Poopó Lake the river flows in a south-western direction along the village of Belén de Choquecota in the Nor Carangas Province towards the Carangas Province. In the Choquecota Municipality, southwest of Choquecota, it empties into the Barras River which ends in Coipasa Lake.

Janq'u Qala is a lake on the western side of the Apolobamba mountain range of Bolivia situated in the La Paz Department, Bautista Saavedra Province, Curva Municipality. It lies about 4,489 metres (14,728 ft) above sea level. The lake is about 3.25 km long and 0.47 km at its widest point.

Jacha Jipiña

Jach'a Jipiña is a 4,950-metre-high (16,240 ft) mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Andes of Bolivia. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Los Andes Province, Pucarani Municipality. Jach'a Jipiña lies south-west of the lake Juri Quta.

Wila Willk'i is a 4,630-metre-high (15,190 ft) mountain in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the La Paz Department, Loayza Province, Malla Municipality. Wila Willk'i is situated northwest of Malla and a mountain named Malla Qullu.

Jacha Qullu (Loayza)

Jach'a Qullu is a 4,390-metre-high (14,403 ft) mountain in the Bolivian Andes. It is located in the La Paz Department, Loayza Province, Malla Municipality. Jach'a Qullu is situated south-west of the mountains Wila Willk'i, Malla Qullu and Janq'u Qalani (Jankho Khalani). It lies west of Malla. The river Jach'a K'uchu Jawira flows along the northern slopes of Jach'a Qullu.

Quta Qutani (Bolivia)

Quta Qutani is a mountain in the Bolivian Andes, about 4,600 metres (15,092 ft) high. It is located in the La Paz Department, Loayza Province, Malla Municipality. Quta Qutani is situated northwest of the little town of Malla and the mountains named Malla Qullu and Wila Willk'i and northeast of Kunturiri. The Jach'a K'uchu Jawira (Jachcha Khuchu Jahuira) originates east of the mountain. It flows along its southeastern slope and to the southwest as a tributary of the Malla Jawira.

Wila Quta (Larecaja)

Wila Quta is a mountain in the Andes of Bolivia, about 4,960 metres (16,273 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Larecaja Province, Sorata Municipality, north of the massif of Janq'u Uma and Illampu of the Cordillera Real. The river Janq'u Uma Jawira originates south of the mountain. It flows to the north-east.

Jach'a Jawira which later is named Q'ara Qullu and Waña Jawira is a Bolivian river in the La Paz Department and in the Oruro Department. Its waters flow towards Uru Uru Lake.

Ch'uch'u Jawira is a Bolivian river in the La Paz Department, Larecaja Province, Sorata Municipality. Its waters flow the Kaka River which belongs to the watershed of the Beni River.

Jach'a Jawira which upstream is called Anallajchi and Sura K'uchu and downstream successively is named Qincha Jawira and Achuta is a Bolivian river in the La Paz Department, Pacajes Province, Calacoto Municipality. It is a right tributary of the Achuta River which originates near the Chilean border and flows northeast to reach the Mauri River.

Thujsa Jawira, which upstream successively is named Ingenio and Río Grande and downstream is called Llink'i, is a river in the La Paz Department in Bolivia. It flows to Awallamaya Lake south of Lake Titicaca.

Jach'a Jawira is a Bolivian river in the La Paz Department, Pacajes Province, Caquiaviri Municipality. It is a left tributary of the Desaguadero River.

Jiska Chukita

Jisk'a Chukita is a mountain in the Cordillera Real in the Bolivian Andes, about 4,980 m (16,339 ft) high. It is situated in the La Paz Department, Murillo Province, La Paz Municipality. Jisk'a Chukita lies northwest of Jach'a Chukita and southeast of Kunturiri. Ch'iyar Quta Jawira flows along its northern slopes.

The Ch'alla Jawira which upstream successively is named Chilla Jawira, Pichini Jawira, Janq'u Quta and Siwinqa is a river in the La Paz Department in Bolivia. It is a left tributary of the Desaguadero River.
