Jorpati is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Gokarneshwar Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. At the 2011 census it had a population of 84,567 [1] making it one of the largest villages in the world. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 10,796 and had 1,988 households in it. [2]
In the year 2016 Jorpati has become Municipality from VDC with the population of more than 500,000. Jorpati is the gateway for Sundarijaal and Sakhu.[ citation needed ]
Banke District (Nepali: बाँके जिल्ला[bãke], a part of Lumbini Province, is one of the 77 districts of Nepal. The district, located in midwestern Nepal with Nepalganj as its district headquarters, covers an area of 2,337 km2 and had a population of 385,840 in 2001 and 491,313 in 2011. Gothatar is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Kageshwari-Manohara Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. It being handled By ward Secretary name Rameshwor Dahal. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census it had a population of 26,169 and had 6,749 households in it. The newly built Bagmati bridge connects Gothatar with the roadway to Jorpati. The Krishna Parnami Mandir is one of the major attractions in Gothatar. In between 2007 and 2010, the density of population has rapidly increased as more and more houses are being constructed. The majority of the population in Gothatar consists of Hindu Brahmins and Kshetris. The natives are mainly farmers who still have cowsheds in their homes despite being very close to the rush of the metropolitan Kathmandu.
Thankot is a village and former Village Development Committee that is now part of Chandragiri Municipality in Kathmandu District in Province No. 3 of central Nepal. It lies in the lap of Chandragiri Hill. According to the 2011 Nepal census it has a population of 12,047 and has 2,820 households.
Gimdi is one of former Village Development Committee of Lalitpur, Nepal. The village is around 80 kilometer away from Kathmandu. It lies in Ward No. 7 of Bagmati Rural Municipality, Lalitpur Province No. 3 of central Nepal. According to National Population Census, 2299 people who lived of 461 household in Nepal in 2011. It has touched the border of Mahankal Rural Municipality of Lalitpur and Bagmati Rural Municipality of Makwanpur District.
Korbang Jhimpe is a village development committee in Salyan District in the Rapti Zone of western-central Nepal. At the time of the 2001 Nepal census it had a population of 636. According to the 2011 Nepal census Korbang Jhimpe had a population of 6,183.
Pathari Shanishchare (पथरी-शनिश्चरे) is a Municipality in Morang District in the Koshi Zone of south-eastern Nepal. It was formed by merging three existing village development committees i.e. Hasandaha, Pathari and Sanischare in May 2014.
Kolhuwa is a village development committee in Nawalparasi District in the Lumbini Zone of southern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 6292 people living in 1025 individual households. .This VDC was merged in the Madhyabindu municipality on 19 September 2015 along with Tamasariya and Narayani Village development committees (VDCs). The center of the municipality is established in the former Tamasariya VDC of Chormara Bazaar. After merging the three VDCs population it had a total population of 28,224 according to 2011 Nepal census.
Nepal conducted a widespread national census in 2011 by the Nepal Central Bureau of Statistics. Working with the 58 municipalities and the 3915 Village Development Committees at a district level, they recorded data from all the municipalities and villages of each district. The data included statistics on population size, households, sex and age distribution, place of birth, residence characteristics, literacy, marital status, religion, language spoken, caste/ethnic group, economically active population, education, number of children, employment status, and occupation.
Gokarneshwar is a municipality in Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Province of Nepal that was established on 2 December 2014 by merging the former Village development committees Sundarijal, Nayapati, Baluwa, Jorpati and Gokarna. The office of the municipality is that of the former Jorpati village development committee. The river Bagmati has its origin as the name Bagh Dwar situated in the middle of the Shivapuri jungle in this municipality. In the village on the banks of the Bagmati River stands the Gokarna Mahadev temple, built in 1582. In late August or early September people go to this temple to bathe and make offerings in honor of their fathers, living or dead, on a day called Gokarna Aunsi.
Madhyabindu is a municipality of Nawalpur District in Lumbini Zone of Southern Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Tamasariya, Naya Belahani and Kolhuwa Village development committees (Nepal)|Village development committee]]s (VDCs). The center of the municipality is established in the former Tamasariya VDC of Chormara Bazaar. After merging the three VDCs population it had a total population of 28,224 according to 2011 Nepal census. After the government decision the number of Sub Metropolitan cities and municipalities has reached 12 and 217 respectively in Nepal.
Hanumannagar Kankalinimai is a municipality of Saptari District in Sagarmatha Zone of eastern Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Hanuman Nagar, Joginiya-1, Joginiya-2, Gobargada and Inarwa village development committees (VDCs). Later, Bhardaha, Portaha, Madhawapur, Rampur Malhniya, Malhniya village development committees (VDCs) were added to the existing Hanumannagar Yoginimai Municipality.
Sundar Haraicha is a municipality in Morang District of Province No. 1 in Nepal. It is centered around Biratchowk town which is the gateway to Biratnagar. It borders Itahari Sub- Metropolitan city to the West, Dharan Sub- Metropolitan city to the Northwest and Belbari municipality to the East and is connected by the Mahendra Highway. It is one of the fastest growing cities in the Eastern Nepal and the second largest city of Morang district after Biratnagar with 121,305 inhabitants living in 26,677 households. It consists the town centres of Biratchowk and Gothgaun which are parts of the Greater Birat Development Area which incorporates the cities of Biratnagar-Itahari-Gothgau-Biratchowk-Dharan primarily located on the Koshi Highway in Eastern Nepal, with an estimated total urban agglomerated population of 804,300 people living in 159,332 households.
