Kerriodoxa elegans, the white backed palm, is the only species of palm tree in the genus Kerriodoxa, in the family Arecaceae. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]
It is an endemic species of Thailand, first discovered in the Khao Phra Thaew reserve on 11 March 1929 and described as a new genus and species in 1983. [6] [7] It is dioecious, with separate male and female plants. [8]
Salacca is a genus of about 20 species of palms native to Southeast Asia and the eastern Himalayas.
Calamus is a genus of flowering plants in the palm family Arecaceae that are among several genera known as rattan palms. There are an estimated 400 species in this genus, all native to tropical and subtropical Asia, Africa, and Australia. They are mostly leaf-climbing lianas with slender, reedy stems. To aid scrambling some species have evolved hooks on the underside of the midrib, or more commonly by modified "pinnae" or tendrils in the form of stout, backward-pointing spines. These stems may grow to lengths of 200 metres.
Colobocarpos is a monotypic plant genus of the family Euphorbiaceae. The sole species is Colobocarpos nanus. It is native to Laos and Northern Thailand.
Sampantaea amentiflora is a plant species of the family Euphorbiaceae, first described as a genus in 1972. The genus Sampantaea is monotypic and found in Thailand and Cambodia.
Cladogynos is a genus of shrubs in the family Euphorbiaceae, first described as a genus in 1841. It contains only one known species, Cladogynos orientalis, native to Southeast Asia and southern China.
Botryophora is a genus of plant of the family Euphorbiaceae first described as a genus in 1888. It contains only one known species, Botryophora geniculata, native to Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra, and Java.
Coccothrinax is a genus of palms in the family Arecaceae. There are more than 50 species described in the genus, plus many synonyms and subspecies. A new species was described as recently as 2017. Many Coccothrinax produce thatch. In Spanish-speaking countries, guano is a common name applied to Coccothrinax palms. The species are native throughout the Caribbean, the Bahamas, extreme southern Florida and southeastern Mexico, but most of the species are known only from Cuba.
Brahea is a genus of palms in the family Arecaceae. They are commonly referred to as hesper palms and are endemic to Mexico and Central America. All Hesper Palms have large, fan-shaped leaves. The generic name honours Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546-1601).
Borassodendron is a genus of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae. It contains two species, native to Southeast Asia.
Chuniophoenix is a genus of palm tree named after Chun Woon-Young, then director of the Botanical Institute, Sun Yat Sen University, Guangzhou. It contains three known species, native to southern China and Vietnam. Chuniophoenix is a member of tribe Chuniophoeniceae, a small group of palms that exhibit great morphological diversity and interesting biogeography. The tribe includes four genera: Chuniophoenix with 3 species in China and Vietnam, Kerriodoxa (monotypic) in Peninsular Malaysia and Thailand, Nannorrhops (monotypic) from Arabia to Afghanistan, and Tahina (monotypic) in Madagascar.
Cyrtostachys is a genus of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae. Its species are found in southeast Asia, New Guinea, and in some of the South-Central and Southwest Pacific island habitats of the Oceanian realm.
Hyospathe is a genus of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae, native to South America and Central America. It contains the following species:

Wallichia is a genus of seven species of flowering plant in the family Arecaceae.
Maxburretia is a genus of three rare species of palms found in southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia. The genus is named in honor of Max Burret.
John Dransfield is an honorary research fellow and former head of palm research at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, United Kingdom, as well as being an authority on the phylogenetic classification of palms.
Chuniophoeniceae is a tribe of palms in subfamily Coryphoideae of plant family Arecaceae. The four genera within the tribe are morphologically dissimilar and do not have overlapping distributions. Three of the genera are monotypic, while the fourth genus (Chuniophoenix) has three species.
