Kishore Bharati Krirangan (commonly known as Mukundapur Stadium) is a multi-purpose stadium in Kolkata, West Bengal. [2] [3] used mainly for football matches. The capacity of the stadium is 12,000 and the size of the sports complex is 13 acres. The stadium plays host to Mohammedan SC's non-derby Indian Super League matches and lower division Calcutta Football League matches. [4] It has occasionally hosted Calcutta Premier Division matches. [1] [5] Sports meets of different schools are also held here. [6]

Kishore Bharati Stadium was reopened on 7 February 2021 after a brief renovation by the Government of West Bengal. Chief minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated it ahead of the 2020–21 I-League. The stadium hosted its first domestic league match between Gokulam Kerala FC and Real Kashmir on the same day. [7]

A few years ago the stadium was used as the home ground of Tollygunge Agragami for Calcutta Football League matches. [8]

Location

The stadium is located beside E.M. Bypass in the Survey Park area (Purba Diganta) of Santoshpur, Kolkata. [9]

Facilities

The stadium is equipped with several facilities, a La Liga football academy, and can be used for football and athletic events.

A modern underground drainage system is present in the stadium. It has practice grounds for cricket and football. There is a 100-seater dormitory accommodation facility present below the galleries. It has facilities to host seminars, conferences and meetings. [10] A swimming pool complex is present beside the stadium. [11] A martial arts training centre also operates on the premises. [5]

The 2019 Calcutta Football League Premier Division was the 122nd season of the top state-level football league within the Indian state of West Bengal. The season kicked off on 26 July 2019. It had two sub-divisions: CFL Premier Division A and CFL Premier Division B.

The 2021–22 I-League was the 15th season of I-League, last as the top tier of Indian football league system, since its establishment in 2007. All the matches were hosted in a bio-secure bubble in West Bengal due to COVID-19 pandemic in India.

The 2021 Durand Cup knockout stage began on 23 September with the quarter-finals and ended on 3 October 2021 with the final at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata, West Bengal, to decide the champions of the 2021 Durand Cup. A total of 8 teams competed in the knockout phase.

The 2003 Indian Federation Cup, also known as 2003 Tata Federation Cup due to sponsorship reasons, was the 25th season of the Indian Federation Cup. It was held between 26 July and 9 August 2003. Defending champions Mohun Bagan were eliminated by Mohammedan Sporting in the semi-final, who faced Mahindra United in the final. Mahindra United went on to win their maiden title with Shanmugam Venkatesh scoring the winner for them in the 78th minute. Raphaël Patron Akakpo of Mahindra United finished the tournament as the top-scorer with three goals.

The 2022 Durand Cup, also known as IndianOil Durand Cup due to sponsorship ties with Indian Oil Corporation, was the 131st edition of the Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia, and also the first edition since it was supported by the Asian Football Confederation. This year for the first time the tournament was played in more than one venue. The tournament is hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society in co-operation with the AIFF, Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of West Bengal, supported by the governments Assam and Manipur.

The 2022 Calcutta Football League Premier Division was the 124th overall season of the two highest state-level football divisions of West Bengal. The division consists of two tiers within it: Premier Division A and Premier Division B.

The 2022 IndianOil Durand Cup group stage was played from 16 August to 5 September 2022. A total of 20 teams, consisting 11 ISL clubs, 5 I-League clubs and 4 Indian Armed Forces teams, competed in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage.

2022–23 Calcutta Women's Football League was the 27th season of the Calcutta Women's Football League, also known as the Kanyashree Cup.

The 2023 IndianOil Durand Cup group stage will be played from 3 August to 22 August 2023. A total of 24 teams, consisting 12 ISL clubs, 5 I-League clubs, 1 I-League 2 club, 1 regional league team, 3 Indian Armed Forces teams and 2 Foreign armed force teams, compete in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage.

The 2024 CFL Premier Division is the 126th overall season of the Calcutta Football League – highest state-level football division of West Bengal. The 2024 edition will have 26 teams divided into two groups of 12 in the first phase, with top 6 qualifying for the championship round and bottom 6 heading into the relegation round.

The 2024 IndianOil Durand Cup group stage will be played from July to 31 August 2024. A total of 24 teams, consisting 13 ISL clubs, 2 I-League clubs, 2 regional league team, 6 Indian Armed Forces teams and 1 Foreign armed force teams, compete in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage.
