Arjen Robben is a Dutch professional footballer, who represented the Netherlands national football team at international tournaments and friendlies from 2003 to 2017. He has 37 goals in 96 appearances, making him the 9th most-capped and 5th-highest goalscorer for the Dutch national team. He has played for his national team at 2 UEFA European Championships (2004, 2008), 3 FIFA World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014), and the qualifiers for UEFA Euro 2016 and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He helped them reach the knockout stage of the former five competitions, most notably in 2010 where they would reach the final but lose 1–0 to Spain. On April 2003, made his international debut in a 1–1 friendly match against Portugal at the age of 19. [1] He scored his first ever international goal in October 2003 during a UEFA Euro 2004 qualifier against Moldova. [2] He ultimately decided to retire from international duty in 2017 following their unsuccessful qualifying campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. [3]
