Tetovo is a city in the northwestern part of North Macedonia, built on the foothills of Šar Mountain and divided by the Pena River. The municipality of Tetovo covers an area of 1,080 km2 (417 sq mi) at 468 meters (1,535 ft) above sea level, with a population of 63,176. The city of Tetovo is the seat of Tetovo Municipality.
FK Vardar is a professional football club based in Skopje, North Macedonia, which competes in the Macedonian First League. They are the most successful football club in North Macedonia, having won eleven Macedonian First League titles, five Macedonian Cups, two Macedonian Super Cups and one Yugoslav Cup. In 2017, they became the first Macedonian club to qualify for the group stage of a European competition.
MRT Center is a modern-era high rise building in Skopje, North Macedonia. At 70 m (230 ft) high, it was the tallest building in the country from its completion until the taller 130 m (427 ft) Sky City Sky Scrapers project was built in 2015. Constructed in 1984, the MRT Center is completely owned by Macedonian Radio Television, as its headquarters.

Skopje 2014 was a project financed by the Macedonian government of the then-ruling nationalist party VMRO-DPMNE, with the official purpose of giving the capital Skopje a more classical appeal but designed more earthquake-proof. The project, officially announced in 2010, consisted mainly of the construction of colleges, museums and government buildings, as well as the erection of monuments depicting historical figures from the region of Macedonia. Cevahir Towers (Macedonian: Кули Џевахир, pronounced[kuliˈd͡ʒɛvaxir]; also known as Cevahir Sky City is the tallest building complex in Skopje, as well as on the whole territory of North Macedonia. These skyscrapers are 142 m tall with 42 floors. The construction of the complex started in 2011 and finished in 2020. The mall in the city is almost completed.

The COVID-19 pandemic in North Macedonia was a part of the ongoing worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was confirmed to have reached North Macedonia in February 2020. The initial contagion in the country was mainly connected with the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy as there are circa 70,000 residents of Italy from North Macedonia and resulted in many people returning to North Macedonia, bringing the virus with them. As of 9 July, over 7,000 cases have been confirmed in the country, due to its second wave caused by family reunions during Eid al-Fitr among the Muslim minority and the overall re-opening of the country to organize the parliamentary elections.
The 2020–21 Macedonian Football Cup was the 29th season of North Macedonia's football knockout competition. This edition did not have a defending champions due to the interruption of the previous edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
