Luminosity Entertainment LLC is an American film distribution and production company founded in 2021 by Elie Samaha, Daniel Diamond and Geno Taylor, based in West Hollywood, California. [1] [2]

The company focuses on producing moderate-budget genre films, typically ranging from $5 million to $20 million, aimed at theatrical distribution.

It has acquired a library of some films produced by Seven Arts Entertainment.

History

In September 2021, Elie Samaha, co-founder and former CEO and chairman of Franchise Pictures, Daniel Diamond, worldwide distribution head of Franchise, and Geno Taylor, founder and manager of GVN Releasing, formed Luminosity Entertainment. [3] Samaha had served as the chairman of the board, and Diamond and Taylor were appointed co-CEOs of the company.

In May 2022, Luminosity Entertainment announced a multi-picture production deal with rapper and actor Ice Cube's Cube Vision, in association with 5120 Entertainment and SmokeyScreen. [4]

While that same month, Maxine Peake was set to star as renowned Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya in the film Mother Russia, with Ciaran Hinds and Jason Isaacs co-starring. [5]

In November 2022, it was reported that actress Emma Roberts was in final talks to join Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush in the action-comedy Verona Spies, directed by Frank Coraci. [6]

Luminosity continues to adapt to the evolving entertainment landscape by recognizing consumer habits shifting towards home entertainment and streaming services.

The company is strategically pivoting from conventional genre films to blockbuster releases and direct-to-consumer streaming offerings, enabling consumers to enjoy different genres of movies.
