Mongolian Heart is a Nepali Lok folk, pop, slow rock melody band from Nepal. Mongolian Heart debuted in 1992 and it has received several awards in Nepal. Band is very much popular around the world in Nepali community. The band is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed Nepali Bands of all time. The band has traveled many countries during their concerts like America, Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin, Brisbane, Adelaide, Tasmania and Canberra) Hong Kong, Dubai, Israel, South Korea, different cities of India, Bhutan, United Emirates of Arab and all over the place in Nepal. Beside devoting to create good Himalayan tunes, members of the band have been involved in act of philanthropy. In the aftermath of 2015 earthquake in Nepal. Band members Raju Lama and Boby Lama they were involved in many social activities in Nepal during the earthquake and still they were active in such activities. Their genre of music inspires and holds the essence of being Nepali bonded together with love, culture and various ethnic group and has taken the Nepali Music Industry to a different level. Although the band specializes on a fusion of traditional folk and pop music that uses a combination of native and western instruments. It has experimented with all genres including Nepali folk, pop, slow rock and reggae. The band celebrated its 25th anniversary by performing all over the world in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and they were planning to celebrate 35 years in music all over the world in Nepali Community.

Music of Nepal refers to the various musical genres played and listened to in Nepal. With more than fifty ethnic groups in Nepal, the country's music is highly diverse. The Tamang, are a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group of Nepal, Southern Bhutan and North India. In Nepal, Tamang people constituted 5.6% of the Nepalese population at over 1.3 million in 2001, increasing to 1,539,830 as of the 2011 census. The Tamang people are concentrated in the central hilly region and himalayan region of Nepal. Indian Tamangs are found in significant numbers in the state of Sikkim and the districts of Darjeeling and Kalimpong in West Bengal state. Bhutanese Tamangs are native to various districts in the southern foothills of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Such districts include the Tsirang District, the Dagana District, the Samtse District, the Chukha District, the Sarpang District and the Samdrup Jongkhar District. Tamang language is the fifth most-spoken language in Nepal.

Nepalese rock refers to rock music culture of Nepal and the Nepali-speaking regions in India like Sikkim and northern West Bengal, and some parts of Bhutan and Burma.

Most of their albums are ranked amongst the top-ten best-selling albums according to Hits FM of Nepal. The madal or maadal is a Nepalese folk musical instrument. The madal is used mainly for rhythm-keeping in Nepalese folk music. It is very popular and widely used as a hand drum in Nepal. The madal has a cylindrical body with a slight bulge at its center and heads at both ends, one head larger than the other. It is usually played horizontally in a seated position, with both heads played simultaneously.

A number of overlapping punk rock subgenres have developed since the emergence of punk rock in the mid-1970s. Even though punk genres at times are difficult to segregate, they usually show differing characteristics in overall structures, instrumental and vocal styles, and tempo. Kutumba is an instrumental folk Nepalese band. It only uses Nepalese traditional musical instruments such as bamboo flutes, sarangi, madal, tungna, dhol, jhyamta, arbajoo, dhime, dhyangro, damphu, khin, and singing bowl. The band recorded a single for season 6 of Coke Studio Pakistan, which aired in late 2013. They have collaborated with other Nepali artists such as Navneet Aditya Waiba, Satya Aditya Waiba, Albatross, Hari Maharjan, 1974 AD and Astha Tamang Maskey. They competed in the AI Song Contest 2021 alongside Diwas, Chepang, and Hari Maharjan with the song "Dreaming of Nepal", placing 17th with 15 points.

Tilak Bam Malla, better known by his stage name Parivesh, is a Nepali folk pop singer. He first gained popularity in the late 90s for his second Lok Pop album Parivesh Vol.2 with all-time hit songs like Mutu Chune, Bhote Talcha, Haat Ma Rumal and Chaite Dashain, and was dubbed as pioneer of Lok Pop genre in Nepalese music industry.

Visan Yonjan is a Nepali singer-songwriter. He has been the frontman for two bands, Stond Amp and Visan N' The Groovers. He began his music career in 2006. He has worked with various Nepali artists like Sabin Rai, Nima Rumba, Mingma Sherpa, Ciney Gurung, Sugam Pokharel He has performed in Nepal, Hong Kong, Thailand, China, India.

<i>Folk Roots</i> (album) 2005 studio album by Kutumba

Folk Roots is the second studio album by Nepali folk band Kutumba. It is contains instrumentals of old Nepali songs and Nepali folk songs which are covered, remastered and improvised by the band. The album is produced and marketed by SAC Music International. It is one of Kutumba's most famous albums that introduces old songs to the new young generation. The band has improvised these old songs and produced it in better quality preserving these immortal Nepali songs for the new generation. The album features a 9:00 minutes long instrumental of "Asarai Mahinama" and instrumentals of other famous folk songs like "Sindhuli Gadi", "Ful Ko Thunga" and others. As their name, Kutumba is all about bringing together traditional folk tunes and instruments with new and improvised sounds and ideas.

"Melancholy" is an environmentally-themed song sung by 365 Nepali artists. This song was intended to promote an environmental message by breaking the Guinness World Records for "Most Vocal Solos in a Song Recording", which it successfully did. It was written, music composed and directed by environmentalist Nipesh Dhaka. The song was recorded as a single on 19 May 2016. The recording sessions were inaugurated by Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli at 8 am and continued until 6 pm. The song was released on 2 September 2017 by President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Army Officer's Club, Kathmandu.
