Mtshabezi Mission is a village in Gwanda District of Matabeleland South province in southern Zimbabwe. [1]

At Mtshabezi Mission there is a hospital [2] and a high school that frequently obtains the best school leaving exam results in Zimbabwe. [3] A university is planned for the site. [1]

Antelope Mine, now known as Maphisa, is a town in the Matobo district of the province of Matabeleland South, Zimbabwe. On 14 June 2024, the government of Zimbabwe granted Maphisa the town status. Maphisa is located about 114 km south of Bulawayo and 14 km south of Kezi. The village was established in an area once rich in wildlife and was named after a goldmine which started operating in 1913 but closed in 1919. The mine was established on the site of ancient African workings which were first discovered by Europeans in the 1890s and the first claims were pegged in 1894.

Lupane ( luːpɑːnɛ) District is located in the Matabeleland North Province of Zimbabwe, and it is also the Provincial Capital. The District is situated at an elevation of 976 m with a population of 107,000 inhabitants by 2022. Lupane Town is the main center of the district located 172 km from Bulawayo along the A8 Victoria Falls Road. The Government Provincial Administrative offices are located at the Town Centre. A new university near the Town has been established under the name Lupane State University, which caters for the region and beyond. The word Lupane is thought to be a Kalanga or Lozwi word.

Mangwe District is a district of the Province Matabeleland South in Zimbabwe. It is divided into 17 wards. Some of the wards are Ngwizi, Mphoengs, Sanzukwi, Sangulube, Maninji, Madabe, Mbakwe, Empandeni, Mayobodo, Mambale, Makorokoro, Tshitshi, and Marula. Some villages found in this district are Bulu, Kweneng, Togotsweu. Mangwe used to be a part of bigger district which was known as Bulilimamangwe. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Callistus Ndlovu</span> Zimbabwean politician (1936–2019)

Callistus Dingiswayo Ndlovu was a Zimbabwean academic, diplomat, and politician. He joined the Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU) in 1963 as a teacher in Matabeleland, and went on to serve as its representative to the United Nations and North America in the 1970s. After Zimbabwe's independence in 1980, he was a member of the House of Assembly from 1980 to 1985 and served as a senator from 1985 to 1990. He left ZAPU and joined the ruling ZANU–PF party in 1984.

Edgar Moyo is a Zimbabwean politician. He is currently serving as the Minister of Energy as well as Power Development of Zimbabwe. He also worked as the deputy minister of the primary and secondary education. He is a member of ZANU–PF.
