This article contains the results of the Republic of Ireland national football team during the 1950s. Between 1936 and 1954 the Football Association of Ireland referred to their team as Ireland. [1] After a FIFA ruling they became the Republic of Ireland in 1954.

The 1980s were the most successful decade in the existence of Belgium's national football team, as they appeared in four of the five major tournaments and also reached their best positions so far: second place at Euro 1980 and fourth place at the 1986 World Cup.
