The Rhodes football team is the football team which represents the island of Rhodes, at the biannual Island Games. Rhodes is not a member of FIFA or UEFA, it is an island within Greece and plays under the auspices of the Hellenic Football Federation, the governing body for football in Greece.

The Pankritio Stadium is a multi-purpose sports stadium located in Heraklion on the island of Crete. It was completed on 31 December 2003, and officially opened on 11 August 2004. As one of the most modern sports venues in Greece at the time, it was used as one of the football venues to host matches of the 2004 Summer Olympic football tournament. It has a capacity of 26,240 seats, and is currently the home ground of local association football club Ergotelis, and on occasion, of Greece.
Koskinou is a village on the Greek island of Rhodes. It is located 5 miles from Rhodes town and 6 miles from the island resort of Faliraki and the Music School of Rhodes.
Ialysos is a town and a former municipality on the island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Rhodes, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 16.7 km2. It is the second-largest town on the island of Rhodes. It has a population of approximately 13,000, and is located eight kilometres west of the town of Rhodes, the island's capital, on the island's northwestern coast.
The Super League Greece 1, or Stoiximan Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the highest professional association football league in Greece. The league was formed on 16 July 2006 and replaced Alpha Ethniki at the top of the Greek football league system. The members of the cooperative are the Football Limited Companies (P.A.E.) that have the right to participate in the Super League 1 championship. The president of Super League 1 is Vangelis Marinakis, who has been re-elected for the third time.

The 2005–06 Greek Football Cup was the 64th edition of the Greek Football Cup, competition. This season's edition was the first to be entitled "SINCO Greek Cup" after SINCO Insurance Brokers. The competition started on 20 August 2005 and concluded on 10 May 2006 with the Final, held at Pankritio Stadium. Olympiacos won the trophy with a 3-0 victory over AEK Athens.

Syrna (Greek: Σύρνα; anciently, Syrnos or Sirna or Agios Ioannis, is a small island about 4 km2 in area to the south-east of Astypalaia in the Dodecanese group of Greek islands, situated to the south-east of the country. It is mostly covered with juniper and garrigue scrub. The few inhabitants raise livestock, catch fish and practice arable agriculture. The island is important for migrant and breeding seabirds and raptors, including Cory's shearwater, yelkouan shearwater and Eleonora's falcon.

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese islands of Greece and is their historical capital; it is the ninth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. Administratively, the island forms a separate municipality within the Rhodes regional unit, which is part of the South Aegean administrative region. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is the city of Rhodes, which had 50,636 inhabitants in 2011. In 2022, the island had a population of 125,113 people. It is located northeast of Crete and southeast of Athens. Rhodes has several nicknames, such as "Island of the Sun" due to its patron sun god Helios, "The Pearl Island", and "The Island of the Knights", named after the Knights of Saint John of Jerusalem, who ruled the island from 1310 to 1522.

Greece national under-23 football team represents Greece in international football competitions in Olympic Games. The selection is limited to players under the age of 23, except three overaged players. The team is controlled by the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF).
Rhodes Knights Rugby League is an amateur Greek Rugby league club from Rhodes, Greece. Knights compete in the Greek Rugby League Association's 2017 Championship, which are currently in first place. They competed and were declared undefeated champions of 2014 and 2015 Hellenic Rugby League Federation's 1st Championship Division and 2016 Greek Rugby League Association's Championship. They are 2015 Greek Rugby League Challenge Cup holders.
The 2019–20 Gamma Ethniki was the 37th season since the official establishment of the championship in 1983, but the 1st season as the fourth tier of the Greek Football. It will start on 22 September 2019. After the finish of the eight groups, the first team of each group will qualify for a playoff round of two groups, to determine which two teams will be promoted to Football League.
The Greek Basketball Super Cup or Hellenic Basketball Super Cup, is the top-tier level professional basketball national super cup competition in Greece. The first edition of the tournament, was organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.), in 1986. It was contested by the Greek Basket League champions and the Greek Basketball Cup winners. However, the Greek Basketball Super Cup was revived in 2020, by the Hellenic Basketball Association (HEBA), under a final four tournament format.
The 2022–23 Gamma Ethniki was the 40th season since the official establishment of the championship in 1983, and the second after the reestablishment as the 3rd tier of the Greek Football. The competition started on 13 November 2022, and was conducted in five groups, in contrast to 2021–22 season, when it was conducted in seven groups. The groups were formed according to geographical criteria. After all games of the five groups are played, the champion of each group qualifies for a playoff round, from which the top four clubs will be promoted to Super League 2.
The 2023–24 Gamma Ethniki was the 42nd season since the official establishment of the championship in 1982 and the 3rd tier of Greek football after the restructuring of 2021. It has an amateur character, while the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF) is responsible for the conduct of the championship.
