Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple and Hindu Cultural Center of Ohio is a Hindu Temple in Columbus, Ohio and serves the Hindu Community of the Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area. Its address is 2764 Sawbury Boulevard, Columbus, Ohio, 43235. Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple is a member of the Pluralism Project by Harvard University [2] . The current head priest is Pandit Shri Satyanarayana Sastry Ji.

History

Lakshmi Ganapathi Temple of Columbus was registered as a Nonprofit Organization in August 2012 [3] . The Hindu Temple started operations on September 2012 and registered with the Ohio State Treasury in December 2012 [4] . A significant number of the temple members are converts and has made Hinduism the 3rd most practiced religion in Columbus [5] .

Hinduism in Canada

Canadian Hindus generally come from one of three groups. The first group is primarily made up of Indian immigrants who began arriving in British Columbia about 110 years ago. Hindus from all over India continue to immigrate today, with the largest Indian ethnic subgroups being Gujaratis and Punjabis. This first wave of immigrants also includes Hindu immigrants who were of Indian descent from nations that were historically under British rule, such as Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, and parts of coastal Eastern Africa.
